Smoke Alarm, not a power failure Alarm14 Mar 2007 01:54 GMT2
I have a couple of Smoke Alarms, and both of them are AC powered with
a 9-V batt backup. But whenever the AC power drops out for a few
seconds, they sound the alarm just as if there were smoke. Is there
any alarm that will just smoothly and quietly switch to battery backup
Crowding the Interesection DOES NOT get you out there any faster...13 Mar 2007 15:16 GMT103
Geez, I don't see why people constantly crowd the interesection from cross
streets.  It has the opposite affect they want.  Even driving my truck my
reflex is to slow down and give myself more options to manuever.  If they
stopped where they were supposed to and stayed there ...

3M tape failing on sensors13 Mar 2007 02:10 GMT15
I mounted some Ademco 5816 wireless window/door sensors on several
windows in my home using 3M tape. Due to space requirements the box is
attached to the glass and magnet on the sill. About 4 months after the
install I had a box fall off a window. What is the best way to attach
cost of installation- hard wired panic buttons13 Mar 2007 01:15 GMT10
Thank you to everyone who responded to my last post.
I was looking for an estimate to install around 45 panic alarms (hard
wired or remote) for a social services, county government agency.
This is just a rough estimate.  I realize that there are different

Hey Roland and others: Arecont Vision 1.3 Mpixel Network(IP) Camera12 Mar 2007 12:09 GMT32
I'm new to the IP cams.  They want $545 for the Arecont Vision (
AV1300), is this wholesale?  Me thinks this is awful high for the
"dealer" price I got.
Also what is the consensus on the Luxriot software?

Configuring Concord 4 without ANY hardwire zone10 Mar 2007 20:42 GMT2

just deleting these zones enough?
Thanks
CO2 Placement10 Mar 2007 03:09 GMT33
What's the current thought on placing CO2 detectors?  I am working on a
three story house with a wine-cellar basement.  Its a restoration of an old
mansion here.  Do I need to put a detector on each floor?  How high should
they be?  Which detector do you recommend?
