Troubleshoot Ademco Vista 10SE NO AC15 Jan 2007 19:58 GMT5
Our system keeps going back and forth from "NO AC" to AC.  The other
day it sent an alarm when it did that and the battery ran down.  What
can I do to troubleshoot this?  The system is probably 10 or 12 years
old.  Would a <failing> transformer cause behavior like this?  I am
I love client email like this15 Jan 2007 13:37 GMT2
I've been holding John's hand throughout his building his 3rd house we've
done for  him. Unfortunately, this builder wouldn't let us do anything
because they were locked into Ranger American [see my previous posts over
the past 5 months]. On Feb 17 we will be ripping RA's stuff ...
Ademco Keypad not working after extended power outage15 Jan 2007 13:28 GMT5
I have a Ademco Vista 20SE system with two keypads (M6673). Following a
winter power outage of 4 days, one of the two keypads doesn't work,
however the system works fine with the other keypad.
I verified that the keypad is the issue by switching the two keypads
Telco listen in talkback devices anyone15 Jan 2007 03:59 GMT2
I'm looking for two way audio device for a phone line over an outdoor
speaker. I have a paradox voice dialer module V1.10 at the premises that can
switch 2 pgm outputs remotely. Also a network DVR with alarm contacts open
or closed on a dsl line at the location. I'd like to be ...
Master password15 Jan 2007 03:44 GMT27
I downloaded Napco quickloader 5.0 from somewhere on the web last
summer (a link from either this newsgroup or the web to a Napco site).
The master password cannot be added or created.  I tried Napco, napco,
pass, password, "no password at all", but keep on getting the message
Kitchen LV smoke with Hush button or Heat Detector?15 Jan 2007 00:06 GMT2
My house is currently equipped with 120 VAC interconnected smokes.  I
am aware that I cannot incorporate them into my DSC panel because they
will not work during AC outage.
I plan to replace them.
Alarming Garage14 Jan 2007 22:00 GMT4
I own an F150. The cruise control wiring has been replaced because of a
recall by Ford, because of fires. What I want to know is, how can I alarm my
garage in such a way, to let me know inside the house, if "anything" at all
in the garage catches fire. Being an attached garage, it's ...

Low battery message on Keypad14 Jan 2007 05:49 GMT9
Yesterday while eating dinner my gemini keypad beeped and when I looked
at the message it said low battery. The battery is about 2-3 years old
and we have not had any power failures.
What can cause this?
Hook in AC Fire Alarms to Security System14 Jan 2007 05:44 GMT19
I'm looking to tie in my BRK AC fire alarm system into my Caddx NX-8e
Security System so I can have it monitored in case of a fire. I'd
prefer not to rewire my entire house with fire alarms if possible.
Does anyone of any systems which will allow me to tie the two systems
mum's the word on howto tweak smoke detector14 Jan 2007 05:36 GMT12
I'm a computer geek, and am about to discard
another cheap ionization smoke detector that
has gotten too sensitive to put up with.  Cleaning
the little chamber didn't help much, though yes,
CCTV Video issues14 Jan 2007 01:32 GMT8
It's a big job... so we figured we'd do it right, but when everything
was plugged in, it was so wrong.
We ran everything in CAT5E and used passive baluns to make the
connections.  Funny thing, the longest runs went outside of the
Crimping BNC13 Jan 2007 22:50 GMT7
Hi I need some serious help! I am ashamed to say that I have been
installing CCTV Camera for like 13 years. The company would always buy
Twist On connectors and I have had nothing but trouble with those
things! I have a Ideal Crimpmaster and need someone to clue me in on
Bob LaLonde12 Jan 2007 17:44 GMT18
I called that distributor and asked my rep to go to bat for you.  The problem was apparently caused by your rep dropping the ball.  Then, by the time you called to ask where your stuff was, the manufacturer had raised their prices.  The problem was the rep's fault though.  She ...
Batteries and Fire12 Jan 2007 07:59 GMT12
So it turns out I didn't need to experiment with batteries to see if
they can start a fire. An incompetent shipper from Burtek did me the
favour when he  badly packaged a case of batteries. For some stupid
reason, they did not come in the orginal cardboard case with the nice
