Is there any reason, legal or electrical why a rechargeable battery
coud not be used in a smoke detector?

any easy method to reset the paswords/usernames on these?
should i remove the builtin 3.2v battery and let them expire to default?
or is there a specific set of jumpers to short?  (plenty of them on the main
board)

I am looking for a RELIABLE inductive driveway alarm module that I can use
to detect cars coming up the driveway.
I don't want to use motion as we have lots of deer that use our driveway as
well.
