Last week, somebody got into my car and took two cameras and a fishing reel.
Needless to say, that happens every day and of course, I'm not happy about
it.
But, the strange thing is.....that the stuff was stolen in fifteen minutes

Checking on progress at new house and see this ones insulated with the foam.
Can't pull service loop out at doors or windows.  Luckily I was out of 3/8"
plugs when I pulled the wires and had left 4"-6" of wire tied in a knot at
every window.  But for future  I gotta come up with ...

DS2 Monitors Locking Up30 Nov 2006 00:44 GMT4
This is not a problem I have personally experienced, but I thought I would
throw it out here and see if anybody else has.
I just got a call from a police officer back east.  He says they have
several DS2 DVRs that will have the monitor image just freeze.  It still

It worked fine for more than 2 years, but last summer we had false

us listed as a client (which we are not)
VistaScape29 Nov 2006 05:04 GMT5
I know there are some CCTV guys here. I know some service accounts with a
ton of cameras. Someone here has to do seaports and airports and such. Does
anyone here have any experience with VistaScape? If so does it work in real
life anything like their (impressive) demo?
flush mount alarm panel enclosure29 Nov 2006 00:45 GMT53
I'm installing my own security system in a new house DSC Power832 and I
would prefer to have my alarm panel and equipment mounted in a flush
mount enclosure.  Most alarm kits come with surface mount enclosures
and I am having trouble finding any that are designed for in-wall
Looking for online "basics" resources...29 Nov 2006 00:42 GMT22
My wife is taking a property-insurance course as part of her underwriting
certification, and is struggling a bit right now with the alarm portion...

ULC-spec designs with NO information on the basics of ...

Harddrive-based camcorder as standalone security camera?28 Nov 2006 22:17 GMT6
I'm looking for a simple, fairly portable standalone security camera
setup.  Something that could be loaned out on a temporary basis, is
located indoors, and records things outdoors (say, car break-ins)
through a window.  And not too expensive, hopefully less than $600 or

For "Petem"28 Nov 2006 02:52 GMT3
There once was a powerful Japanese emperor who needed a new chief
samurai. So he sent out a declaration throughout the entire known world
that he was searching for a chief.
A year passed, and only three people applied for the very demanding
