| ISC East Rollcall | 30 Sep 2006 23:04 GMT | 43 |
I was under the impression that the ISC show was for the trade .... only. I never noticed any applications that offered attendance to the public or "consumers".

| Per Hour Charge | 29 Sep 2006 16:26 GMT | 27 |
I'm curious as to the average "per hour" charge on a CCTV install? Is it by the individual job or is it by the complexity, etc.? Is that a legitimate question to ask an installer, "How much do you charge per hour?", or is that just too open ended a question.

| I give up | 29 Sep 2006 07:39 GMT | 19 |
One of my accounts suddenly misses a daily timer. I call the customer; "Oh, we had digital telephone service installed. And, oh, by the way, the "technician" said "the alarm wasn't hooked up right." Sooooo, your alarm system has sent signals daily since 1989, and

| I wish this was fiction | 28 Sep 2006 04:09 GMT | 14 |
Why is it that people will spend tens of thousands of dollars for newer cars, televisions, stereo equipment, computer upgrades, golf clubs, furniture, and every other bobble or goody but they have no issue using a prehistoric system, or some DIY crapola they bought on Ebay to

Ok, I was doing a search a while ago trying to find out how to disable a door sensor and put a motion in its place. I found someone had said to put in a code and go from there, after powering off the unit. I did as it said, now there is nothing on the display. It's just used as a ...

| PIR Motion Detectors | 24 Sep 2006 16:42 GMT | 18 |
Does anyone know if it is possible to circumvent a motion detector with hairspray? I am assuming this would work with a dual technology motion as well because it takes both technologies to trip. Please let me know. Thanks

| Fire Alarm Rant | 23 Sep 2006 00:31 GMT | 2 |
We recently took over a building that had been "serviced" by a company kind enough to leave a record of work orders inside the main control unit (Mirtone 790) located in the parkade electrical room. The property manager gave them 30 days to fix the "trouble" on the system and then ...
