Ademco compatiblility question08 Oct 2005 03:03 GMT1
Is a 5809 rate of rise heat detector compatible with a 5881EN receiver? The
detector says for use with QED panels only. I find no reference to "QED" in
the Vitsa 15P manual nor in the receiver manual.

Inductants/ground faults?07 Oct 2005 15:16 GMT5
A couple of months ago (in one of the trade mags), I read about a company
who had a new(?) product that reduced ground faults. My understanding was
that you put them on the lines to clean up inductants. Also thought it
suppressed ground faults that restored right away. Any ...

Saw spider crawl into control box!07 Oct 2005 02:56 GMT31
I was wiring up my control box and watched a spider crawl down the wall,
through a hole in top of the metal case, then behind the circuit board.
I know that insects have caused problems with computers. Actually this is
where the term "computer bug" first originated. There was a bug ...

Lufkin Security programming?05 Oct 2005 20:38 GMT3
Lufkin will charge $50 to remotely program my panel. From what I've seen of
the programming manual on my Vista 15P, it could take me a couple of weeks
to program and debug. $50 sounds like a good deal. Any comments on their
services? Most online monitoring companies then charge ...
Disabling a "lost" Ademco keyfob?05 Oct 2005 14:48 GMT9
I have a residential system monitored by a big national company.  I
just had my worn-out wireless keyfob replaced and the tech took the old
one with him (I should have said it was lost).  I noticed on the
paperwork he assigned all new zones for my new keyfob, and apparently
