I had a false alarm yesterday and didn't receive a cal from the central
station to check in.  When I asked them about it, they claimed they had
received a cancel signal along with the alarm and therefore didn't
call.  Fine.  But I always cancel false alarms immediately and they

don't want it monitored, just something to know when someone comes in when
I'm upstairs and to deter any would be criminals.

I had a 5010 go a little crazy today.  Actually I guess it's been like this
for a couple days, ever since a power outage (fried the board, maybe?).
The monitoring station called and asked the customer to try to send
signals... didn't work.  So they gave us a call, I went down and ...

I inherited this device with my house with no code or list of sensors.  I don't want it monitored, just something to know when someone comes in when I'm upstairs and to deter any would be criminals.
I admit, too, that I want to figure this thing out.

I need an odd camera mount for exterior mount. Lightweight camera. Needs to
be like an L mount to mount on side of building and come out abt 18 or so
inches to clear the overhang then go up abt the same distance (measurements
not critical at this time). Trying to avoid a custom ...

I have just purchased a new-to-me home and it came with a Brinks (wired)
alarm system.  Don't know the age of it but it has to be 6 years old or
less.  I'm not interested in signing up with Brinks' service ($35/mo) but
have read that I will probably have to replace several ...

Now I want to get something that is able to be accessible from the web.

I have a Crow Powerwave 16 alarm panel and would like to cancel it's
dialout to the security monitoring firm (ie, I no longer want it
monitored).  I have the system code, but am unsure how to proceed.

I purchased a 6270ADT keypad that went bad on me.  I tried contacting
the person I bought it from, but no success.  It has been less than 1
year since I purchased the item.  The firmware date is Jan. 12, 2005
(so it is obviously less than a year old).

I need to replace a couple and can't seem to decide due to all the choices
available. One in for my carport covered rear driveway, 26' W x 40'L, and
the other is for the front entry sidewalk.  I guess I just need to know
which brands you guys feel are reliable and cost effective ...

Is it ok to mount the transmitter on the door and then just chisel out
enough of the casing for the magnet or should the transmitter be mounted on
the casing. If the transmitter is mounted on the casing, this would mean
notching out 1.5" x 3" because the casings are all fancy ...
