I have a kitchen with big casement Anderson's in two areas -- one on
the West wall and one on the North wall.  I understand you need to
"point" a glass break acoustic sensor at the window, correct?  That
means I need two, one pointing North and one pointing West.  I also

Best glass break detector18 Oct 2005 21:16 GMT12
I do not use glass break detectors very often, and have not for about a
year now.  Need to install about 10 in a new office building (all
ceiling mounted in offices).  In your opinion(s) what brand and model
could you recommend for this job?  Also, I need a good quality audio
Do 2-wire motions exist?18 Oct 2005 21:01 GMT8
Is there such a thing as a good-quality 2-wire dual-tech motion sensor
that can be attached to a zone extention on a napco keypad to avoid
having to run it to the panel (not to mention being out of panel
zones)?

I was broken into ... last questions before purchase18 Oct 2005 03:46 GMT12
Like a lot of people that pop up in all of a sudden, I was just broken
into last Thursday. They stole my digital camera and my headphones.
Apparently the guy broke into 6 places within a few block radius.
Anyway ... I realize all security is a balance between cost and
Long distance phone service18 Oct 2005 00:22 GMT2
In Central & Eastern North Carolina, phone rates have recently gone up.
Many of our customers are 100 miles from our office, which is making
our phone bill rather high due to regular voice calling, and also the
down loading, and/or up loading of changes to the Napco program.  Does
Napco Keypad is Out Of System17 Oct 2005 19:40 GMT2
I have a Napco Gemini with three English keypads.  I removed keypad #02
because of construction and will replace it in a few weeks.  Keypad #03
now displays "03 Out Of System".  Is this because you can't have a gap
in sequence numbering?  Is there an easy way to make #03 still work

RS485, Video & DC over Cat517 Oct 2005 13:55 GMT1
I may be trying the impossible here.
I have often used cameras using Cat5 and a balan to carry the video and
which also carries the DC for the camera using Power over Ethernet devices.
I now need to drive PTZ (which I know little of at the moment). Since the DC

I have a Paradox Spectra 1728 v2.4 system, I have the programming guide

Tamper Contacts17 Oct 2005 05:55 GMT17
Keeping in mind that I am an end user with just enough electronics knowledge
to get myself in trouble, can someone explain the basics of how a tamper
contact on a PIR works?   We had to take a DS9370 out of service, and I
noticed that the two tamper contacts had not been wired.    ...
