All electrical and electronic manufacturers designate "normally open" as the
device state when the relay, switch, etc is in its resting state with no
signal applied. Therefore, if no magnet is applied to a reed switch, the
contacts are not closed and the switch is "normally open" ...

I found those 5 ft. long drill bits at Home Depot. They were in the
electrical department, not in the tools section. And the bit has a hole
drilled in it so you can use it to fish wires after drilling a hole. They

  I picked up a used ds924 motion sensor. I want to use it in a shed
quite far from my house strictly as a visual deterrent. In other words
it will not be connected to an alarm panel. When I press the test
button, the sensor works well for several minutes(I assume its allowing

I have recently powered down Vista-20 by disconnecting the AC. After
re-connecting the control panel does not display anything. I have tried
*#, but it did not help.

Ok, you guys convinced me.  I bought a couple boxes of double window
envelopes.  A few tweaks to my invoice template in Quickbooks and it works
great...  except...  these are small envelopes.  Great if all that's in the
