"Magnet tamper" for surface mount contact?30 Sep 2005 22:53 GMT32
Is there a surface mount contact which has some sort of tamper device if the
magnet is unscrewed from the door? Manufacturer? Model number?
This would prevent the situation where there is a door which opens out,
there is a surface mount contact on the door frame, a surface mount ...
ESP Infinite Factory Reset30 Sep 2005 17:04 GMT3
I had an ESP infinite wireless alarm installed in December, the
engineer did not provide a master code however. Now I need to move the
main box (as a door is going there) and add a new sensor to the system.
The company that installed it will not provide me with the master code
"Blanks" kill actors30 Sep 2005 15:07 GMT87
Curious about Leuck's comment in another thread, I did a Google
on the subject and found the following two items:
"On October 12, 1984, model-actor Jon-Erik Hexum playfully put a
blank-loaded pistol to his head on the set of the TV spy show

temperature monitor30 Sep 2005 06:39 GMT3
I had a request today for a sensor to monitor an outdoor freezer.
I usually install Caddx equipment.
The client wants to have a sensor in their outdoor freezer that will
alert them if the power goes out or if the freezer fails.

Monitoring station response time30 Sep 2005 02:42 GMT45
This morning I my alarm system was triggered.  Fortunately it was a
false alarm, no damage or injury occurred.

then waited for a phone call from the monitoring station.  It took 3
Please Help a NEWBIE - Question about cellular backups30 Sep 2005 02:34 GMT13
I was wanting to know if I have any other option other than installing a
cellular backup to my alarm in case my phone lines are cut? I had been told
that a piece of equipment exists that would allow a neighbors phone line to
call out if yours get cut. The way I was told that it ...
From Alarm to centeral station 29 Sep 2005 23:50 GMT12
As a vender I have three types of panels going to my central station.
My central station recently made changes.
The Contact Id panels go in, in  seconds. The 4+2 take 90 - 120 seconds from
alarm to the printing of the alarm at the central station.
Chubb Windsor 500 engineer code software29 Sep 2005 21:56 GMT1
Does anyone happen to know where I might get hold of software to generate
engineer codes for the Chubb Windsor 500 panel in the UK?? The company I
work for have just taken on a few and its proving to be a nightmare without
this software!
Why didn't you install my alarm when promised?29 Sep 2005 16:15 GMT9
Many moons ago, I worked for an alarm company which specialized in
*extremely* concealed wiring for home systems.
We had a new install job where the customer left us the key to his house,
then went away on a trip. We spent a week installing his system while he was
What is the RF House ID Code?29 Sep 2005 15:09 GMT1
Can someone explain the RF House ID code? Is that a number in the panel, or
a number that I assign to it, or a number the monitoring company assigns, or
a number determined by the configuration of the system?

Internet-enabled home security system?29 Sep 2005 04:24 GMT2
I'm interested in a home security system that would allow me to arm,
disarm, configure, and check its status, as well as see what any of
several security cameras are seeing....all over the internet. This
would obviously require a high-speed internet connection, and I would
Need help troubleshooting Ademco panel...lengthy29 Sep 2005 02:51 GMT8
I recently purchased a home  that has an alarm with an Ademco panel .
I think  it's about 8 years old. I'm not sure what model it is. But I
can locate the model number if you tell me where to find it. The
problem is when I plug the panel in there's a constant tone and the

has been very carefully done (in major part by alarm pros), and that this is
a serious inquiry.
