Battery fpr PC155012 Jun 2005 21:55 GMT8
I've measured the voltage from the battery and it's only around 13.9V. I
also got a trouble condition light the other day and it pointed towards "low
battery". The battery is supposed to be at 16V - does a 13.9 reading ...
DIY Burglar Alarm and Video Security12 Jun 2005 16:06 GMT51
I really enjoy reading your bantering.  It's good fun.
My boss is remodeling his house, and it's time for him to pre-wire for
burglar alarm and cameras.  I told him I'd help him out 'cause I'm somewhat
familiar with them both, although I'm not up to speed on the latest alarm
Paragon Plus11 Jun 2005 21:47 GMT19
I have just moved into a new house.  It has a paragon Plus alarm panel
fitted which i only know the limited user code for.  I need to re-
programme the alarm to allow me to leave the dogs in the lounge or
kitchen over night.
Inovonics Guardian Question11 Jun 2005 21:43 GMT4
We bought out a small alarm company a couple years ago.  The owner died.  WE
did get all of his alarm files with the purchase.  For most of the alarm
panels we have had no problem with the dealer code as it was documented in
the file for the account.
Anybody else had dealings with Jim Rojas ??11 Jun 2005 06:17 GMT109
Sent him a P1632 board to have unlocked. It was delivered in March.
I heard nothing despite giving him all my contact info.
I emailed several times but got no where.
Finally I phone him and he tells me that the board I sent him was a

Glass Break Detectors11 Jun 2005 06:07 GMT9
What is the general consensus on glass break detectors? Do they work
well enough to rely on them as a primary perimeter security device? Or
are motion dectors a better bet?
I currently have Caddx CDX-2000 (?) detectors on my home system. They
DSC WS4955 recalled10 Jun 2005 23:00 GMT18
I was in Tri-Ed today, and found out that the new DSC mini transmitters
have all been recalled. DSC will apparently never learn; test, test, test...

Heading out on vacation10 Jun 2005 06:54 GMT4
Just a note to tell you guys I'm heading out on a motorcycle trip for from
three weeks to a month starting Monday (if anyone cares). My son is running
the business pretty much anyway, so I'm going to take that bike trip I've
wanted to do since I got that touring cruiser last year ...
Vacuflo (vent)10 Jun 2005 02:11 GMT2
The co. I sub to has now decided that their  installers must add vacuflo
with all rough-ins, on top of structured wire, alarm and audio.
I did my first today. Its a time consuming task. .   Not to mention all the
extra gear I need to carry in my already overloaded van, the glue ...
Ademco programming09 Jun 2005 17:52 GMT53
Hey, I have a really dumb question.  I'm reading that Ademco panels require
a 6139 keypad for programming.  So what if you give the customer a different
keypad?  Are they expected to never reprogram the thing themselves?  Is this
so that they never can?
Vista 10SE powering up in STAY mode09 Jun 2005 03:31 GMT28
Hi, all
I am trying to help out a friend. His monitoring contract ran out on a
Brinks system that he had installed when purchasing the house two years ago.
Brinks removed a Vista 10SE, which I now want to reinstall.

Can anyone advise on AZ alarm co licensing questions:
Are sales reps working door-to-door required to be licensed?
Technician/installers?
newbie question wireless security system06 Jun 2005 21:47 GMT1
I am looking for a wireless security system, where I can check on the
status of the system from 3 different locations (floors).  Also, I
want to be notified ,for example, that the front door was opened even
if the alarm is not set.  For example, if I am in the basement, I want
