| Rate of Rise detectors | 22 Apr 2005 04:10 GMT | 2 |
A quick question on how to hook up the Rate of Rise sensor. I am assuming it gets hooked up to the proper zone and the zone set as it would be for a smoke alarm.

This relates to the problem I've been having in getting 3 new Kidde PI 2000 smoke dectors to talk to each other. They replaced 3 very old detectors which were apparently wired together also. As described in a previous post, when my new ones were hooked up to

| End Of Line Terminating Resistor, Or Module, On Older Interconnected Smoke Detectors ? | 21 Apr 2005 10:05 GMT | 5 |
For you "old timers" out there (meant as a compliment): Did older wired-in smoke detectors that were interconnected ever use or require, an end-of-line terminating resistor ? How about an end-of-line module, of

| Gardtec 800 Series Error Code? | 20 Apr 2005 18:58 GMT | 5 |
To cut a long story short, I was given a code with the alarm when I bought my house and it turns out it's the master code. The misses managed to blindly press buttons with the code while trying to disarm and now I can't arm the thing anymore.

| I had a bad wireless alarm installation... | 20 Apr 2005 00:23 GMT | 3 |
I had a bad wireless installation and a crap wireless alarm equipment, that's what pro's "attempt to let you believe". The "so called pro's without radio technique knowledge" tell you that my system was "crap and/or badly installed".

| Wired or Wireless alarm systems? | 19 Apr 2005 22:31 GMT | 4 |
What is the basic difference between wired and wireless alarm systems? It boils down to the "connections link" between sensors and control panel of both systems, besides that sensor data connection link both systems are alike.

| Add wired ouput to Skylink Security System | 19 Apr 2005 14:03 GMT | 1 |
I am thinking of getting a Skylink system but I want to be able to add my own external siren and bell. Is there a way to open up the case and tap into the wires that run the internal alarm, or to do something similar with the Skylink wireless remote alarm? I don't need much power

| Wireless Motion Detector Recommendations... | 19 Apr 2005 05:46 GMT | 12 |
I'm looking at the DSC and Ademco wireless motion detectors, but they seem pretty expensive ($80-$150). Is this what I should expect to pay or is there a decent alternative for a bit less that's compatible with a DSC 864? Thanks.

Thread after thread deals with the horridness of this man. Sorry, but I don't buy it. You know what pisses me off about society? The rules are: You do a crime, you do the time, the state spends the $$

| CADDX NX-6 question from homeowner | 18 Apr 2005 20:08 GMT | 116 |
The house we purchased has a CADDX, NX-6 system. It appears that the previous alarm company changed the installer code (probably to lockout competitors). I have been unable to talk to anyone at this company. So I plan to install a new NX-6 board.

| Drawing software | 18 Apr 2005 17:44 GMT | 15 |
What do you guys use for CAD drawings? I want for both commercial fire and resi systems, and don't want to go through the steep curve of AutoCad (big bucks too!).
