motion detector19 Dec 2004 21:13 GMT13
I'm looking for an quality outdoor motion detector that is really sensitive.
There are no issues with pets or blowing leaves/debris.  The ability to
switch 500 watts or more would be nice.
The area needing coverage is a 180 degree area out to a distance of 50 feet.
Reset DSC PC100019 Dec 2004 21:09 GMT8
I am hoping someone can tell me how to reset a DSC PC1000 to factory
settings.  The manual shows to remove the communications board and jump the
reset pins on the main board.  The main board I have is a version "A" and
does not have reset pins. I am thinking that maybe this was ...

If I put a 690 and a single zone expander on the same wire, they'd have to have separate addresses - so the 690 would have to be supervised or no?

Optima 2Plus zone chime problem17 Dec 2004 19:28 GMT3
Somehow - probably the kids hitting random keys on the panel, we now
have a chime on the panel whenever the PIR for zone 2 on our system is
activated.
A number 2 lights up on the panel each time and I can't turn it off!!!
Ceiling Mounted Horn Strobes17 Dec 2004 07:33 GMT2
Is there a maximum height that these can be mounted? The installation
instructions dont list any height requirements. I need to put them in a
steel building that is 18ft high. The local fire marshal has already apprved
them, but it does not seem right to me. I must be used to the ...
Secure Wireless16 Dec 2004 12:53 GMT4
The rep for our area dropped off a sample of the PIR, Key Fob and
Door/window transmitter.
They enrolled just like the ITT devices would on any GE product using
wireless.
Pet immune security in my home?16 Dec 2004 07:21 GMT14
I just talked to ADT Residential and they say they have stopped
installing pet-immune motion detectors "because they just don't work."
Then I asked if they can install some sort of invisible beam sensor at
about shoulder height that a pet could not trip, but an intruder
No dialtone - Gemini P3200 with Vonage16 Dec 2004 03:26 GMT6
I connected a P3200 to Vonage.  It dials out and reports fine.
Polarity is correct.  The problem is that it reports a Comm error, no
dialtone.  It appears that the Vonage adapter generates 44 volts DC
while Ma bell generates 52 volts DC.  I suspect that this difference is

Any preference between DSC 4020 and Apex 6100?14 Dec 2004 04:28 GMT5
I am pre-wiring my house and am going to go ahead and pull the alarm wire
for a few door contacts and a few motion detectors, along with the smokes.
I've been looking at some panels that can be integrated into my Vantage
Controls Home Automation system, and Vantage has built in ...

direct me to more information on my new ITI Security Pro 5000 panel.  I
just bought a home with a mostly wireless system which was installed in
late 1998.  I have the user guide as well as the installation
