I'm looking for professional grade surveillance software for Linux.  I've
looked at the available freeware but this market segment is still in it's
infancy in Linux.

Newbie dummy here.
I went poking around in my Alarm system after getting the manual and how to
get access to the programming mode. It's a Vista 10SE hooked up to ADT in
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

I've been checking into putting in an alarm system. Called ADT which
advertised local service and they sent the rep from Nashville 100 miles
away. Do they sub-contract out their work? The person who showed up was
sales only and didn't know anything about how the system would be ...

Hello group,
Is there a page, or someplace I can look up to see if a permit is required
for an alarm, either monitored or otherwise?  This is in a semi-rural area
of central Texas, out side of the town of Bastrop in Bastrop County..I

I have a few Firewolf 2-wire smoke detectors which don't trip if I
hold a magnet over the word "test" anymore.  They still blink green
and there is no warning coming from the panel.  Should I be concerned?
They ALL don't test-trip, not just one.  Aside from lighting paper on

From what I read  PIR are not very happy with a lot of sun light and heat.

Can compass be used to program a safewatch pro panel or do you need special
patch? If not, can the circuit board be changed out with a 20p and keep the
safewatch keypad? Is the safewatch keypad the same as some version of a
regular ademco keypad on the inside?
