i have an acre that was formerly mostly pine that we logged off last winter. currently it's stumps, a brush pile, some newly sprouting small trees (mostly maple & cherry) & pretty ugly.

I seem to break one jar out of 6 when placing the jars in the boiling water bath. The jars are packed snug but not tight The bath water is not a rolling boil

It's not a money thing.... I just *really* want to know what's been chomping up our gardens this year. My money's on deer, but we've ever had them eat tomato plants before. Same with my son-in-law.

we need a "beater" to haul stuff and found an old VW van, quite dented up. So, we cut the top off behind the cab and voila! a pick-up and it shares lots of parts with our Karmann Ghia. same wheel base measurements.

Explain to me, if you can, WHY DO PEOPLE GET PEACOCKS??! Oh sure, they're pretty. So are pheasants. But pheasants don't cut loose with an unnerving and most unpleasant screaming all day and you can actually *eat* a pheasant.
