This is not the first time the US has fought Islamic terrorism13 Nov 2006 02:37 GMT8
The Marine hymn has a statment about it.  It is part of US history.
But did you know?
The Barbary pirates were ISLAMICS even back when Thomas Jeffereson
fought them.
Where does all the firewood weight go?12 Nov 2006 18:46 GMT69
I never understood this.  You bring in 100 lbs of firewood and end up
getting around 3 lbs of ashes.  How can that be?  I realize that the
smoke must have some weight from carbon particles, and some water
evaporates too, but I highly doubt that smoke carried away 97 lbs. So
Wen Electric Chainsaw?12 Nov 2006 11:51 GMT2
I've been Googling and Froogling :-) yesterday and this morning in my
search on info about Wen Electric chainsaws. The one I have is Model
5016,16inch,12 amps and 5200 maximum RPM. What I would like to find is
an online parts & repair manual for this chainsaw that I could print off
Opinion of Price Chopper supermarkets?11 Nov 2006 16:02 GMT22
My preferred supermarket chain (Tops Markets) is for sale and Price
Chopper is the likely buyer.  I've looked at Price Chopper's online weekly
sales flyer for the nearest store (Owego, NY) and the sale prices on items
I buy are mostly higher than Tops' usual sale prices.
Rural Medical Care Available10 Nov 2006 18:43 GMT3
I'm looking to open a medical practice in a rural area.  I want to do
it the old fashioned way.  I will make house calls and provide
personal service, unlike the modern facilities today.  I am looking
for a place where there will be enough business, but where I wont be

Map of US by population, not area09 Nov 2006 16:10 GMT4
House seats are supposed to be more or less equal in population.
NY Times has posted a map showing house seats by state with 1
equal-sized block per state.  So VT gets 1 block, NY gets 29 blocks,
etc.

well cover08 Nov 2006 23:27 GMT1
I may need to replace the cover on a well.  It is a dug well, about 20 feet
deep with a 36 inch diameter galvanized culvert as the wall.  The present
cover is made from four non-treated 2x12s with a wood rim nailed around it
to hold the 2x12s together and a tin cover to prevent ...
Well pump electrical issue...08 Nov 2006 23:06 GMT9
The overload button on my submersible well pump had to be reset again
today.  This is the second time in 3 days.  Prior to that, it has never
been tripped.  Is this a sign of a dying/soon-to-be-dead well pump?
The pump is a tad bit beyond the expected lifespan of 10 years or so.
Not quite De Tocqueville, but close enough08 Nov 2006 20:40 GMT1

politics of a country on patriotic passion and
reflexes," he said. "You can't fool everybody all the

The Bush Plan to Feed the US Starving - Begins 200808 Nov 2006 03:51 GMT5
Just in time for the mid-term elections, president George W. Bush
makes a plea to feed impoverished Americans who are starving and
homeless.  This plan is being implemented right now, and will begin in
2008.  This program is an effort to bring family values back to
Tree Digger Attachment for Skid Steer07 Nov 2006 21:35 GMT2
I am considering buying a "tree digger attachment" for my Bobcat 773T.
I need to transplant over 100 small (12 to 60 inches) pine trees.  I
need to move them about 200 feet on average.
Here is what it looks like:
