When I was in the military, someo0ne rigged up a box and when the lid was slid back or removed (I can't remember which) a fake mouse or (other small animal) that was on a string and I think it was attached to some kind of spring which would "snap" the creature out and scare the whey ...

This is the first time I have seen a fox this close to our house. A red fox with a distinctive white tip on it's tail (never saw that befor either), was in our back yard and went off into the woods. A few minutes later we saw it in the front and down the hill where it was

What does one do to discourage white tail deer. It's not the first time that we've been bothered by deer, but this year it's starting earlier. The big attraction this year seems to be my wife's Hosta plants. Motion activated lights don't seem to work very well. Any suggestions?
