Crop Numbers19 Jul 2006 16:30 GMT5
On the edge of corn fields around here, there are cardboard signs with
a name and number on it.  I have always assumed the name was the seed
supplier and the number was the seed ID.
Is that what they mean?  If not, what are they?

Goat pasture.  What to do with waste hay?17 Jul 2006 16:53 GMT17
I'm pretty new to rural living so please be patient ;)
I have a small herd of goats, during the spring they roam about and
graze, in the dry months of summer I have them penned up and hay-fed.
I get lots of wasted hay on the ground, mixed with lots of goat poop.

As a young minister, I was asked by a funeral director to hold
a grave-side service for a homeless man with no family or friends.
The funeral was to be held at a cemetery way back in the country
and this man would be the first to be laid to rest there.

I have a 17' well that runs out of water in August. Well casing is 2" metal
pipe. I don't know what is at the bottom of the well, may be several inches
or even feet of mud and gunk. Is there any way to clean out the bottom of a
well like this? If I could get just one more foot, I ...

Remedy wanted for Nettles16 Jul 2006 04:45 GMT20
Anyone know of any remedy to stop the stinging from touching nettles
(fire weed)? I try to kill off as much as I can, but I still manage to
touch it at least once a week.  Sometimes I'd like to Roundup the
whole farm to get rid of it.  Till then, what will stop the itch?
