Remove rabbits?25 Jul 2006 22:02 GMT32
The rabbits are encroaching on to places where they are not welcome.  Before
anybody starts with "they have a right to be there", they are an introduced
pest in these parts with very few natural predators, the only way to keep
them under control is for humans to assume that role.
Hairline cracks in new cement slab25 Jul 2006 21:53 GMT8
I had a slab poured (550 s.f.) for a garage.  Several hairline cracks
have appeared.  The slab has 12 inch by 12 inch beams built into the
perimeter and across the middle in both directions.  Also, it has a
lattice of rebar on 16 inch centers plus thicker rebar, 1/2 inch, in
Water tank leaks on bottom25 Jul 2006 21:26 GMT10
My water tank has a slow leak on the bottom.
Since it has no crawling space under it, I would have to take it down to
find the small hole or holes and then do some welding on it.
Instead doing that, I am considering pouring a layer of quick-set cement
Black bears/electric fence24 Jul 2006 13:39 GMT8
We have a small woodlot where we go every weekend while clearing an area to
build a house.  We have a pop-up camper, a 10'x10' wooden shed and a 10'x10'
metal shed.
We made the mistake of keeping bird food in the wooden shed, and about two

A lawyer had parked his BMW in its customary spot, along the curb in
front of his office.  As he opened the door to exit the vehicle, a big
ol' gnarly cadillac with rusted paint and a broken windshield came
sliding by, and clipped the door right off the hinges, sending it
removing honey locust trees?24 Jul 2006 03:19 GMT3
Any suggestions on how to remove honey locust trees from a pasture
without leaving the thorns to damage horses or tractors?
We have some of the trees in our pastures and I'd like to get rid of
them, they just become more of a nuisance and risk as they grow.  Some
Tennessee Feeshin22 Jul 2006 20:45 GMT4
A Tennessee country dweller was stopped by a TVA agent (game warden)
in Tennessee recently with two ice chests of fish.  He was leaving a
cove well known for its fishing.
The game warden asked the man, "Do you have a license to catch those
pecan weevils21 Jul 2006 14:35 GMT3
I have seven old, tall pecan trees in my yard.  In past years weevils
have destroyed almost all the nuts on some trees.  They will soon be
emerging and climbing the trunks.  How can I stop them?
Trained Insects - Circus de arthropods21 Jul 2006 03:41 GMT4
I have never seen something like this. Trained Wasps or what ever this
species may be, performing tricks, playing with Balls and play dead.
Pretty amazing.

Police in pursuit of a stolen Dump Truck ..................news footage21 Jul 2006 00:04 GMT1
I think this was in Los Angeles, but I'm not positive. The Police in
pursuit of a stolen Dump Truck. Dump Truck clips a car on the
intersection, looses control, crashes and a citizen goes after the
suspect with a baseball club. All on tape:
Fly Trap Craziness20 Jul 2006 20:54 GMT21
Well, I'm giving this flytrap a go and just mixed up the yeast bait.
Everything was fine until I made the mistake of adding the sugar. Now I
have three gallons of foam rather than one gallon of yeast-water. I'm
guessing the sugar was a mistake?

Small engine troubleshooting assistance19 Jul 2006 16:52 GMT5
My Wheel Horse tractor uses a Kohler K301 12hp engine.  The engine
falters and stalls out when under load.  Without much warning it starts
to sputter and slows down.  That continues even if the load is removed,
coughing and running very rough till it dies or the ignition is killed.
