I have barn cats, and horses.  One of the young cats decided to climb
the wall in the barn today because there was a bird flying around in
there.  I saw the whole thing happen *lucky for the cat).  The cat

In case you folks are not aware of the NAIS, I suggest you go to the USDA
web page and find out about the screwing we small scale farm and ranchers
are about to get at the behest of Cargill, Conagra, ADM and the other big

Over the years, I have run into the term "degrees of frost" as in, "it
was a cold day, 40 degrees of frost".  One of the first instances was
in a story (?"to light a fire"?) by Jack London IIRC (wow, I read that
over 50 years ago, I hope I have the title/author right).
