Brilliant!!! Not!!!!!22 Mar 2006 18:14 GMT3
The Washington state agency to promote tourism wanted a new slogan to
replace the old one.  Apparently, they were unable to come up with on
in-house so hire a firm that does that sort of work.  They got their
new one a week or two ago.
Leech Field Restrictions22 Mar 2006 10:18 GMT5
I am getting a new septic system with a leech field.
The last time I had a leech field was in CA.  I remember being told not
to drive over it or to build anything over it and to avoid planting
trees there.  Is this all good advice?
Georgia Senate passes toughest illegal immigration law in the nation 22 Mar 2006 02:56 GMT12
It appears the U.S. is returning to the days when sanity ruled. Tough
anti-abortion laws and referendums denouncing same-sex marriage, along with
strong legislation dealing with illegal immigration will bring America once
again to the days when decency and virtue were the models all ...
water blaster (pressure washer)21 Mar 2006 19:41 GMT1
Suze took our pressure washer to a friend's place to strip the paint of his
garage roof. They decided that the pump had no dipstick and they couldn't see
any oil: better top it up.
Huh, of course it was full already and they never discovered the sight-glass.
Survival of New Orleans21 Mar 2006 17:23 GMT9
While the fever about Katrina has died down some. You still hear
screams for money to rebuild.
Personally to rebuild a city below the water level is crazy.
My suggestion , if they must rebuild, is that the area be declared the
Engraving concrete sign, which tip should I use?21 Mar 2006 16:59 GMT8
             I'm making a 3' X 1.5' X 4" concrete sign for my place.
The face of the sign is patching cement so it's cement with fine sand
(think play sand). I plan on engraving the outline of the letters about
1/16" deep using my dremel tool as a router. There are two types of

Looking for Ways to Annoy the Neighbors21 Mar 2006 02:59 GMT195
I am looking for suggestions on how to annoy neighbor who buy up 2 acres
of a former neighbors farm and become pests.
One annoyance is the city-folks' dogs.  I find it calming and thought
inducing to
Ping Jim Ledford21 Mar 2006 02:08 GMT1
Jim did you see my question to you?  I asked how I'd set about growing
soy beans in a domestic vegetable garden.  Is it worth trying?
Hydric soils20 Mar 2006 22:37 GMT1
Hi,  I am looking at some land, a good portion of it shows up as hydric
or partially hydric soil.  There are some pools of water in this area.
Can this land have undergrowth cleared?  Can the water be connected to
form a point?
Vegetable Seed Catalogs20 Mar 2006 22:07 GMT92
When push comes to shove, I probably won't plant any this year (either),
but I still enjoy looking at the online catalogs.  (Sadly, it appears
Parks has done away with most of their dwarf veggies selection.)  Anyone
have personal favorites ... particularly for seeds that do well in ...
Septic- hi water table - checkvalve ?20 Mar 2006 01:40 GMT10
I recently bought a house with a "troubled" septic system.
During periods of heavy rain, the water table is high; the ground is
saturated. The house is on a hillside, and all the water coming down
the hill backfills into the leachfield.
Riding Lawn Mower or Lawn Tractor?19 Mar 2006 21:49 GMT60
I've been looking at riding lawn mowers and I guess lawn tractors around
here where I live and online. Not really sure what the difference
between the two is? Unless it's just that the lawn tractor is bigger? So
I've looked at Wal Mart,Lowes, Tractor Supply and Sears in my local
Windmill electricity feasibility ?19 Mar 2006 07:19 GMT43
I am interested in windmill to lower my electric bill. I understand
that in the state of Rhode Island where I live the electric company
has to purchase back  any electricity generated by the home owner.
My idea is to feed it back making my meter turn in reverse.
Coops can change the world18 Mar 2006 18:48 GMT8
"This study makes me think about contemporary society. If introducing
money into a monkey society causes them to get all f***ed up and do
strange and irrational things, one must wonder if its not primarily the
money causing the same whackiness in humans."
