Ideas for my dream wellhouse!28 Feb 2005 20:27 GMT13
I need a new wellhouse. When I built this one in '92, it was the first
thing I'd ever built, and it shows.  It has rotted around the sills
and is going to have to come down. The wellhead has a 6'x6'slab poured
around it, about 4" deep, and the hut is built on this. It has a
rabbit hay28 Feb 2005 14:47 GMT55
I just recently purchased a double lionhead rabbit and I have spent
alot of time reading about nutrition.  From what I gather it is best to
feed them hay and just alittle pellets.  My question is what is the
best way to purchase hay?  It is very expensive in the pet stores. Does

Codes and enforcement27 Feb 2005 15:20 GMT9
Got a visit from the cities "Code Enforcement Officer" Nice enough
fellow and they're going to help us get the area cleaned, but I was
curious if anyone is a rural area, ever had such a thing happen to
them?
Dell Computers26 Feb 2005 12:50 GMT32
I bought a new Dell Computer in December.  My old one is 5 years old and I
figured it was time to upgrade.
I didn't even get finished setting it up and the hard drive crashed.  A few
days later a guy came and put a new one in.  Not a good start, but these
Well drilling near Septic25 Feb 2005 20:44 GMT8
Due to the lay of the land and recent changes in water tables...I am
forced to utilize an older well that is within 60 feet of my ancient
(and poorly designed drainfield).  I was able to obtain a permit to
deepen this well (currently a very shallow 15 ft well).  Any
Problem with Water well tailings23 Feb 2005 05:39 GMT3
We are building a home in the country and recently had a water well
drilled.  The driller let all the tailings just flow down the hillside
and now we have a covering of granulated rock and shale about 2"
thick,  5' wide and about 50' long.   What can we do with it?  Can I
Wet warm midwest winter creates feed problems.22 Feb 2005 21:21 GMT3
This past winter has been unusually warm and damp here in the midwest. Thus
creating a muddy swamp in my paddocks. I've got my hay ring in the upper
pasture on a slight grade.  Last year the drainage was ok in this spot. So
I moved the ring to it.
Why isn't the whole world kobe?22 Feb 2005 02:27 GMT47
Kobe beef filet goes for $40.00 a pound here while normal prime beef
goes for $17.99 a pound. I prefer kobe and so do all of my friends. Why
don't all farmers raise kobe beef? My understanding is that American
kobe cows don't get all the special treatment like a Japanese kobe
Rural Crime21 Feb 2005 01:56 GMT17
I lived for a long time in a really rural area. Many people in this
newsgroup have the opinion that crime is lower in rural areas. I
believe this is most likely true. I would like some discussion on the
subject of drugs in rural areas, especially meth. Meth seems to be
Coyotes and Dogs20 Feb 2005 08:29 GMT12
Anyone know how big a dog needs to be before it is safe from coyote attack.
Or maybe the question is what's the biggest dog you've ever heard of
getting killed by coyotes?
Thanks,
Watering the pigs17 Feb 2005 23:28 GMT10
Let's say that I got tired, real tired, of carrying a bucket of water about
500 feet to the pig pen twice a day. So, I decide to dig me a trench and put
500 feet of pvc pipe from the well to the pen. In order to get a decent
water pressure at the pen, what size water pipe should ...
Building codes in rural Texas?17 Feb 2005 13:43 GMT10
Any idea whether building codes might be required in a rural area of
Texas?  This is not in a subdivision, and 15 miles from the furthest
town.
I am looking to build a small recreational cabin with an
