Burning pasture?23 Oct 2004 23:26 GMT120
I am in a beef cattle district, East coast Australia.  The cattle are all
grass fed.  The pastures are typically a mix of native and exotic grasses
and some weeds, also both native and introduced.  From time to time some
people (but not all by any means) burn their pasture, mainly ...

Burning Wood Using an Old Chimney22 Oct 2004 16:22 GMT5
My house has a main chimney primarily used for the first floor
fireplace. This big old fireplace was originally used for cooking when
the house was built. This chimney is the old, non-lined, wide-open type
and it has a stove pipe that accesses it on the second floor. The
Keepers at Home magazine still around?22 Oct 2004 14:50 GMT4
Is the Amish/Mennonite magazine called Keepers at Home still being
published?  I subscribed to it for 2 years or so and would like to get it
again, if it's still around.  Unfortunately, I didn't keep my last issue,
and I haven't had much luck finding their website--I think they had ...
Living rural and driving far to work??21 Oct 2004 21:42 GMT100
Hey everyone.  I am currently looking for homes and have found some decent
deals in a smaller town about 35 miles from where I work.  It is interstate
all the way and the hours would be before and after rush hour.  I have drove
the drive going at the most 10 MPH faster than the ...

Broken Stuff21 Oct 2004 15:18 GMT8
I'm so sick and tired of broken stuff.  Broken equipment, broken trucks,
broken this, broken that.
I had to use hubby's truck today to haul chickens in (the last batch of the
year and I cannot tell you how happy I am that that's overwith until
opinions on spaders?21 Oct 2004 14:13 GMT1
Anyone here used a spader, that would like to talk about their experiences
with it, as compared with what most people do (plowing/etc)?
I found a used Falc Toro 1500 spader nearby, and I'm debating buying it,
versus getting a new BCS spader. (I haven't been able to find any

Coyote Update21 Oct 2004 04:22 GMT61
I never did see any coyotes or dogs.  I tried a couple more times with no
luck.  I locked up all the birds and haven't had any more problems until day
before yesterday.  I figured they would reappear, but figured it would again
be around the chicken barn.

Why Olive Oil?20 Oct 2004 03:36 GMT45
