Deer Questions06 Sep 2004 05:40 GMT24
A white tail lives under the deck.  He's fearless, running only 20 ft.
when I fired a shotgun blast in the air.  Same thing with lawn mowers
or tractors that get close.  He runs a few ft. then stops and looks.
He has a damaged antler and injured right rear leg which seems to be
Well water testing06 Sep 2004 00:36 GMT6
Long time listener, first time caller.
I bought a house last year and part of the process was to have the well
water tested.  They said it tested fine.

semi-truck for farm legalities?04 Sep 2004 12:38 GMT38
Over the years we've added some tandem axle grain trucks and finally
a couple diesel-powered tandems to our farm.  The diesels have been
great and their capacity has allowed me to keep up with two combines
much more easily.

Criminal negligence?02 Sep 2004 21:30 GMT44
Today, yet another news story about a minor seriously injured in an ATV
accident.  A 13-year old riding on an ATV driven by his mother fell off
and hit his head on the pavement as they were crossing a public road.
I'm still undecided, but I'm wondering, as ATV accidents involving

Wood stoves and windows02 Sep 2004 18:18 GMT26
With hot air heat, it's a "good thing" to place vents under windows.  The
room where I'm thinking of puting a (small) stove has a triple picture
window on one wall, 11' wide, primarily fixed pane with awning ventilation
windows at the bottom.
Worth removing chimney?02 Sep 2004 17:16 GMT12
My house has an interior approx 20x40 cinder block chimney with two clay
liners.  Unfortunately, there are multiple problems that would cost more
to correct than it would to buy an all-fuel chimney for a woodstove.  (The
furnace uses another chimney.)
Freezers02 Sep 2004 17:16 GMT1
The current lower wattage freezers are a "good thing", but there are times
I'd prefer the old energy guzzling type that don't have to be run as long.
For a price, there are freezers that have a "quick freeze" setting.
How do they accomplish this?  One instruction manual I read ...
Global ?01 Sep 2004 16:38 GMT172
Hello people, global warming has not yet reached us North of 49 central. The

here. I can't remember a year quite like this one ,well maybe in the 50s.
