storing oranges24 Sep 2004 00:46 GMT4
Does anybody have experience with long term storage of oranges?
The fruit on our trees are ripe now, and we'd like to get them off
before the weather gets them, until now we never had enough of a crop to
have to worry about long term storage.

Aggresive wasps problem23 Sep 2004 03:58 GMT7
My wife and I were walking the dogs in the lower property the other
day all the dogs went down and started pawing their noses. Little
black wasps were stringing them. Ran half way to the house and some
followed so we ran the rest of the way and got inside. The dogs were

Dietz Lantern21 Sep 2004 22:38 GMT14
Hi everyone! I am looking for an oil lamp for power outages. Anyone use the
Dietz? If so please give me your impressions as to how much light it gives
and model number to get. I have a cheapo now that barely gives off enough
light to navigate with at night. The lamp will be used ...
Custom Trailer Cost21 Sep 2004 21:48 GMT2
I'm thinking of buying a freezer trailer (again).  I quickly outgrew my
other trailer with chest freezers in it, not to mention all the freezers in
my garage.
The insulated freezer unit is 5X9 and costs $6000, plus freight from WI or

Hi, all
We're first time posters here but read the group often, so we're
sorry for the Hensler's too.
My wife and I are building a modest retirement home (20'x20')
Ivan Effects in PA & Water Damage Question21 Sep 2004 02:35 GMT6
We were hit with the remnants of Ivan here in PA over the weekend and
had flooding that many people have not seen since Hurricane Agnes hit in
1972. I received some relatively minor problems of several trees down on
my lane, my pond overflowing on the dam, some washed out section ...

Hay fever, HELP!21 Sep 2004 00:53 GMT8
Any suggestions what works best for hay fever?  Ragweed seems to be the
one that gets me.   We had a wet summer and now it's hay fever time
until it freezes which won't be for month and a half yet.  I'd like to
get something over the counter that works but won't make me sleepy.  I
Flirting w/BCS20 Sep 2004 13:29 GMT4
My agenda is mowing an acre or so of lawn, snowblowing,  *maybe* some brush
cutting, and maybe 120v AC backup power for a house.
I've looked at used Gravely's, but am intimidated by the size/weight (about half
the lawn mowing is on a steep slope - works with the 48" commercial deck ...
cleaning ditches19 Sep 2004 15:22 GMT10
the thread about sickle bar mowers seems to have veered away from this
topic, so I'll start a new thread.
The county doesn't do a darned thing to maintain the ditches along the
county road.  I have even had to dig out the culverts after watching water
Another generator question19 Sep 2004 06:57 GMT6
I just had a new well drilled and the well guy recommended getting a
generator to power it when the electricity goes out. It's a 2 horse
220V pump. So I'd like to also power parts of the house too if
possible. I've been reading the thread of the transfer switch thing
Microsoft made a believer out of me19 Sep 2004 04:57 GMT56
I hope this subject is not too much of a stretch for this forum but it
seems consistent with certain types of threads here.
I just went from a "poor Microsoft why are they persecuting it" to a
"Microsoft is really really dangerous and something needs to be done"
Home with barn near Catoosa Wildlife Reserve / Obed River19 Sep 2004 04:53 GMT1
I grew up in a home near the Catoosa Wildlife Reserve.  My mother is
now selling the home, so I thought I would post this info in case
anyone is interested.  This is the home in which I was raised.  It is
a beautiful one-story home that sits on a little hill and is adjacent
