Guardian Generac tranfer hook-up?30 Sep 2004 13:29 GMT1
I bought the 15KW Guardian with ATS-100AMp Switch.  My house has two
main 150AMp breakers outside that feed two seperate panels inside )mpt
close to each other) that would be most difficilt to access.  My
question is could I just use the two breakers on the outside to feed
The Poor Southeast!30 Sep 2004 01:14 GMT8
I'm glad to hear that Terri and the dogs are in good shape, but I was
watching the ag news this morning, and the whole SE quarter of the US
has taken a bath, literally.  Many crops that were still in the fields
are terribly damaged. Even if crop insurance takes care of the loss,
heat exchanger problem29 Sep 2004 20:22 GMT8
I installed a convective heat exchanger system to heat my domestic hot
water from my wood boiler system, per the boiler company's
instructions.  I have had nothing but problems and they are running
out of answers (never had good ones, really). I am getting very

Livestock lives are of no value?27 Sep 2004 15:37 GMT163
"ARAs"/veg*ns very much want people to keep in mind  that billions
of animals die each year because people eat meat. When it is pointed
out that those very same animals *only* experience life because people
eat meat--some of those lives being good and some of them being
Splitting maul handle is loose - how to snug it up??27 Sep 2004 06:04 GMT22
My favorite splitting maul has a handle that's loostened up. There's
about 1/4" of play in the head and I'm concerned it may eventually
become airborne!!
Will steel wedges snug it up enough or should I try and rewedge the
Residential Steel Roofing26 Sep 2004 21:01 GMT12
My garage needs new roofing and my house will someday, but not now.  I'm
thinking of steel roofing for the garage and do the house when it needs
it.  Is this something a fairly handy home-owner can do or should it be
contracted?  Anybody out there done it, or had it done? Thanks.
How to figure the size of a replacement septic field? How do you estimate it?26 Sep 2004 17:18 GMT2

Shock from electric hay elevator25 Sep 2004 04:09 GMT5
I was at a friends place the other day and it was raining. My friend
grabbed the hay elevator to move it and was shocked. (He was OK.)
I looked at the wiring and didn't see anything which could cause this
problem, so I'm wondering if it was the electric motor which was slightly
Echo Chain saws25 Sep 2004 02:43 GMT7
I'm looking for a lightweight, reliable, relatively inexpensive saw for
occasional use (cutting fallen trees, cleaning up branches) to be used
several-->half a dozen times per year. I looked at the Echo saws at my local
dealer and like the lightweight, compact size. I'm ...
bale construction redux25 Sep 2004 02:34 GMT6
Well, I'm off on another toot, tho not far from my original plans for
my place...
I want to subdivide my pole barn, running an indoor wall from East to
West.  Straw bale construction comes to mind, as this should help
Getting Winter Grass For My Cat25 Sep 2004 01:57 GMT3
The last couple weeks, I have been gathering lush swaths of rye grass from
corners of my yard, for my cat to eat deep into Winter. My kooky cat likes to
munch on a handful of grass, each day. And in the dark of Winter, he really
misses not having his greens. The past few years, I ...
