Odd incident31 Aug 2004 03:33 GMT6
I sort through some rural newspapers I get (One from where |'ll move
to) and I see I received a "Second copy"
"Oh wait, this is addressed to someone else!"
I peruse the maps on yahoo. Only 2.1 miles away. They get the SAME
Gravel path and Vegetation30 Aug 2004 21:20 GMT9
I live in Oregon where things grow like crazy when the rains come.
I need to lay down some gravel over a dirt path walkway that now
consists of mud, grass and weeds.   I'm concerned that if I just put
the gravel over the mud, the weeds will still grow through.   However,
Inspecting Rural Land?30 Aug 2004 12:43 GMT56
I'm planning to purchase 3 acres of rural land, and there's no way I
will be able to travel and inspect it myself.  Can I hire someone to
inspect the land?  I probably won't build for over a decade, so is it
necessary to hire a surveyor at this point?  Thanks.
Tractor recommendations29 Aug 2004 23:27 GMT7
Can anyone recommend a used tractor to be used on 10 acres. I plan to
expand my vegetable gardening to several acres, and start off
w/several acres of orchard in central Texas. I would want be able to

Very light brush clearing with a string trimmer add-on?29 Aug 2004 21:02 GMT29
I've got an Echo with straight handle.
I see two add-on blades for brush:  one is a sort of triangle with the points
cut off and the other looks more like a circular saw blade.
Anybody had experience with both?  Recommendations?   I'd prefer to do this

Joining Corner Pieces on Barn Steel29 Aug 2004 15:02 GMT3
I am going to reroof a small shed with barn steel.  It has roll
roofing now (I hate that stuff), and the pitch is too low to allow tab
shingles 1/12.  The roof is a simple slope, higher in the front, and
slopes to the rear.  After the tin is installed, I want to put those

In response to the Alaskan post:
Some of these might apply to Alaska as per previous post (with minor
modification)
Again, those of you who are not from Colorado might not find these
Crossbow in Australia29 Aug 2004 01:53 GMT12
I was webbing around trying to find the application instructions for
Crossbow, and discovered something of great concern to discussions:
Crossbow in Australia is not the same chemical as Crossbow in the USA.
Crossbow in the USA is 2,4-D ester and triclopyr (Garlon)

 1. It's pouring rain when you leave for work in the morning, so you leave

 2. It's bright and sunny when you leave for work in the morning, so you

What to do with  Chicken Feet?28 Aug 2004 13:11 GMT26
We had our little flock of old hens slaughtered at the local feed &
grain store today.  When we picked up the results they had put a bag
with all the feet and lower legs in them in the box.  Of what use are
the chicken feet?  We have goats and replacement chicks but no animals,
(relatively) cheap generator recomendations28 Aug 2004 07:58 GMT11
I'm starting to REALLY consider getting a generator to get us by the
semi-annual power failures that last a few days or so.
The relatively cheap models either have a B&S engine or a Tecumseh (sp?)
engine.
Bad year in Man:28 Aug 2004 03:15 GMT5
It has been raining for weeks on end. The ground is thoroughly saturated.
Crops have been killed by early frost now they are flooded. This looks like
