Canada Thistle - what works.25 Jun 2004 10:22 GMT19
The state DOT has created a Canada Thistle problem on my property,
primarily by killing off the native plants with herbicide (every other
year). To preserve what desirable vegetation is left, I haven't used
herbicide on the CTs; kept buffer strips by pulling/mowing.  Also
Generic Roundup not good?25 Jun 2004 03:03 GMT12
Got into a discussion with some other locals the other day and the
group opinion was that we had all tried generic glyphosate (roundup)
and the no-name brands did not work anywhere near as well as the
branded Roundup.
ANGLICAN COMMUNION CHOCK-FULL O' SODOMITES24 Jun 2004 20:21 GMT1
ANGLICAN COMMUNION CHOCK-FULL O' SODOMITES!
In the shocking article entitled "The Coming Out of Modern
Christianity," Judy Miller, contributing author to Ministry Today, an
Episcopalian bimonthly tabloid out of Flatbush, Texas, reports on the
craftsman Lawn tractor Need help please23 Jun 2004 17:04 GMT2
Model no 917.259547  Kaholer 15.5 moter
My son went to jumpstart the tractor and he reversed  positive and
negative.    I had to trace a couple shorts.    The tractor has been
running fine for about a year.    Now the battery will not charge,
Buying a Meat Shop23 Jun 2004 16:42 GMT34
I just found out that the local meat shop is for sale.  All I know about
this business is that the guy's customers are very, very loyal.  No wal-mart
meat for them.  He is selling because he wishes to retire.
Since I'm already in the meat business, in my own little way....I'm really
Help! Cub Cadet won't start23 Jun 2004 16:24 GMT3
Cub Cadet 1864, 1998 model, Kohler engine.  Worked fine, took the deck off
to use the rear blade, then re-attached the mower deck. Started right up,
but the PTO would not work.  After a couple more starts and head-scratching,
it would not start at all. Nothing at all happens when I ...
spraying dewey grass23 Jun 2004 08:44 GMT2
How dry does grass and other weeds need to be before spraying with Roundup
or other herbicides?  I'm an "up at the crack of dawn" kinda guy, but this
north coast weather keeps me out of action for hours, until things dry off a
bunch.
Poison Ivy: Tree?22 Jun 2004 17:36 GMT15
I'm used to seeing the stuff as vines/creepers and sometimes (at the shore) as
scrubby brush.
The other day I saw what looked like a tree with leaves that look to me exactly
like poison ivy.  The trunk was about 8" in diameter.
poor mileage22 Jun 2004 16:53 GMT3
Suggestions regarding the very poor mileage i am getting on my Ram
1500 pickup, with cap over the bed.  Tires are adequately inflated,
maintenance is up to date, and mileage *might* be running about ten
miles to the gallon.  No heavy items residing in the truck bed either.
Getting Lawn Mowing Business22 Jun 2004 14:09 GMT4
I am starting a new professional lawn care business and am having trouble
getting customers despite hundreds of dollars in ads and top notch equipment
and service. I know a couple others went into business at same time as I that
are overwhemed with business. Any suggestions?
If you are a Pegasus Satellite Subscriber22 Jun 2004 06:22 GMT14
I joined this group to let anyone that is a Pegasus Satellite
subscriber in a rural area, do not switch.  DIRECTV and Dish Network
have been telling lies about Pegasus.
You need to read this article, I'm glad I did.
Merry Solstice, everybody!21 Jun 2004 23:40 GMT2
Here we are, at midsummer, or midwinter, if you walk around upside down.
Let's all fire up the barbecue and flatten the grass tonight, even if we
are all busy.
Midwinter festivities are more popular, because we have more spare time
Here Comes Summer21 Jun 2004 11:11 GMT8
My wife took off this morning to drive into predicted 90+ degree temps,
so I took a look at the radiator on her rig.  The fins were plugged with
bugs.  I estimate the radiator was only getting about 50% of normal air
flow.  A quick shot with a garden hose and an air nozzle took ...
Improve our society/culture21 Jun 2004 10:42 GMT3
We would like to find young professionals/students having immense interest
in qualitative concepts to improve our society/culture.
ATS Global, is now coming up with this non-profit Novel concept, which

wire rush/tussock grass20 Jun 2004 23:44 GMT4
I have heard this stuff called various things.  It is wiry, grows in clumps,
and loves wet soggy soil.
Roundup kills it, but the lump remains for a long time.
I am wondering if there is anything that will kill it, but leave the pasture
