Water bar25 Apr 2004 02:21 GMT1
I need to install some water bars on my road this summer.  I'm looking
for some plans for something that can stand up to a plow.  I think
that once it is covered with snow it won't be a problem but it needs
to be able to withstand the initial scraping(s).  Regrading the road
Weather Alert Radios with S.A.M.E24 Apr 2004 21:16 GMT7
Storm season is here and I am getting my weather radios out.  Last summer I
purchased a Midland weather radio.  It works, but then I read about some
radios you can defeat the siren for some alerts and allow it for others.
The only alert I want to hear is the one for a tornado watch ...

Advice on Trailer Bed22 Apr 2004 04:47 GMT5
I picked up a used 4x8 Utility Trailer for working in the yard. Strictly
off-road use, good tires but the plywood bed is fairly rotted.  The 1/2"
plywood is held down by several carriage bolts. I was thinking of
re-painting the frame and rims then replacing the Bed.  Can anyone ...
Husky chainsaw decision22 Apr 2004 03:36 GMT20
I have benefited greatly from some of the recent discussions on this
group regarding chainsaws.  With two McCulloughs presently dismantled in
my workshop I figure it is time to get a real chainsaw. I live in a
relatively warm climate (CA), maybe cut 1-2 cords hardwood / yr, do

Keeping dogs away from gate21 Apr 2004 02:25 GMT10
I have a 1/2 mile driveway with an electric gate that opens onto a county
road. There's a 4x4 mesh fence running down both sides of the driveway and
around the house. The problem is, every time we open the gate, our 4 dogs
want to run out onto the road and chase after us. Does ...

Drop Bears19 Apr 2004 14:33 GMT26
I've just been wondering which countries have that old tradition of warning
newcomers about Drop Bears?
[If you have to ask what a Drop Bear is, then your country or locale doesn't
have have the tradition. :-))]
Fence post depth18 Apr 2004 23:28 GMT12
I was going to set up a split rail fence with some wood I have
left over from clearing an area. I was going to use 8 foot posts
because I'm in zone 5 and the frost line is 36 inches. I was going to
sink them 36" and dump in a bag of concrete. I was walking into Home
