I was amused that he couldn't resist the use of at least one
loaded, if accurate, word.  Too bad.  Such behavior always
Snow In NE Texas :-)24 Feb 2004 14:21 GMT28
Looking pretty outside this morning with snow on the ground and covering
the tree limbs and bushes. :-) More to come down over the next 2 hours
or so. We may get 2 to 3 inches. It will be a huge snow for us if we get
more! LoL Have to get outside and look around a bit when daylight ...
Settle cloudyness in dam23 Feb 2004 19:43 GMT6
My fairly new dam is now nearly full.  I would like to get some water plants
growing in it and in due course some crayfish.  As the soil is quite high in
clay the dam water is very cloudy.  I expect that planting suitable water
plants around the edges and growing the grass on the ...
Septic System Leachfield Problem?23 Feb 2004 19:03 GMT9
I had my septic tank pumped yesterday for the first time during the
six years I have owned my home.  (It had been last pumped just before
I bought the house.)  I had recently been hearing gurgling noises
whenever I disposed of wastewater inside the house, which made me

color of crossbuck23 Feb 2004 17:00 GMT3
I am honestly conflicted about this, so thought I would get a consult!
My house and barn are tan/light brown, with darker brown trim.
Granted, the trim and garage doors on the pole barn are white, but
these are not easily seen from the lane.  I would like to put in a

Which means my farm's website needs a new home.
Schedule To Expect Hostile Insects, Etc?21 Feb 2004 16:01 GMT2
I appreciate the recent advice regarding my problem
with caterpillars targeting my broccoli and
cauliflower.  I am tentatively taking the
recommendation/ID of "cabbage looper," and planning on
Building a paddle boat dock21 Feb 2004 14:53 GMT2
This year I wanted to put a dock on my pond for my paddle boat. I was
going to buy one of those prefab ones but then I thought, where's the fun
at! Does anyone know even where I should begin? It would have to be at least
12' long and 3-4' wide.
Plant bulbs21 Feb 2004 13:30 GMT13
I'm going to be planting about 200 flower bulbs this year
around my pond. Any tips or ideas. I think that the first 10 will go fast
and then after that I'll go down hill fast (anyone who's planted seedlings
by hand knows what I mean). I was going to use a OST or KBC ...

the Santa Rosa plum is beginning to bud.  (The cherry
and apricot just went in as bare root saplings a few
Deer spotting19 Feb 2004 12:25 GMT9
It appears we are right smack dab in the middle of a well used
deer trail. We saw our second sighting yesterday morning of
a doe and a spike traversing the same path a doe had taken
a couple of months ago.
