Retail beef prices28 Feb 2004 15:11 GMT11
Right before mad cow hit, beef prices (except hamburger) were up about
50%.  They had eased down some, but my staple, chuck roast, was still over
$3.  This week the price plummeted to !.99 for boneless, choice.  And to
my surprise, the market actually had plenty.

Can anybody give me any information at all about a Jiangxi FS 184-4?
I believe it was sold under the name of Armstrong here (Australia).  I also
hear that the Jiangxi Tractor Company (China) is defunct.  Is that true and
is that where it was made?

Musket Question27 Feb 2004 19:26 GMT9
I live in an old farmhouse (nothing fancy, but it keeps the weather
out...lol)... Anyway, I have one of those big old fireplaces that they
used to cook in, and I really would like to hang an old musket over the
mantle. I think that would look cool. It does not have to be ...
Color Codes for Fuel Containers27 Feb 2004 15:06 GMT6
Someone here knows this. I think I read something about it on this group.
Isn't there a color coding system for liquid fuel containers? Gasoline always
goes in red containers. Kerosene in ????. So forth.
Is this an informal system, or is there some legal or industry mandate for it?
Septic: Infiltrator chamber vs std gravel system27 Feb 2004 13:03 GMT2
Does anyone have any experience with the gravel less Infiltrator
chamber drain fields? I need to replace my field and the chamber
system looks good because it seems to take up less space and will
disrupt my landscape a little less.

laminate flooring26 Feb 2004 20:13 GMT7
We are preparing to replace our kitchen floor and I am wondering if
anyone has experiences with either ceramic tile or laminate flooring?
Pros/cons/opinions as to wear and tear, hardness, coldness,
scratchability, etc. , comments are appreciated.
tile look is what we want26 Feb 2004 18:50 GMT4
Yes, we are thinking of the tile look. We were thinking that maybe if
it was wooden looking, it would just be too much "wood" in the kitchen
with the cupboards having such a definite grain to them. We were
worried that the color would only be on the surface of the laminate

Sewer line length26 Feb 2004 02:43 GMT7
Anyone know if there is a limit to the length of a sewer line
connecting facilities to a septic tank?  This is providing there is
sufficient slope on the line.  I want to add a studio over the garage,
when built, and the tank is about 150' away.  The garage will be
Earth Pond Questions - Early Spring Projects25 Feb 2004 20:01 GMT10
Hello Ponders and fellow Country-Folk!
I bought a house two years ago with an backyard earth pond that looked
like it needed some work.  I believe it was dugout in the 1950's as a
sauna pond for the prior Finnish inhabitants.  It has a small creek as
