hammer handle stub renmoval03 Dec 2003 15:25 GMT52
Seems the best way to remove the stub of a broken hammer handle is before
the handle breaks.  After picking away at it with knife, screwdriver, and
hammering on it as best I can for an object that cannot be mounted in a
vice - and drilling out what I can - I still don't have the #@! ...

Wal-Mart Employees Revolt; Company Regrets Stocking Shotguns
BENTONVILLE, Ark. (DPI) - Thousands of Wal-Mart employees rose up today to
throw of the yoke of their bourgeoisie employers. Their glorious revolution
began when the proletariat workers used the tools of their capitalistic
Well in Basement03 Dec 2003 01:56 GMT7
Please enlighten me. When I have my well drilled in my Missouri Ozarks
property, why wouldn't I site it where I am going to build my house? Then I
could have the well in my basement. It seems to me that would eliminate frost
concerns, running electricity to the well, running water ...
Facts we should *not* consider.02 Dec 2003 19:28 GMT109
It appears that in order to think of things in the correct and ethically
superior way, some people believe we should disregard certain facts.
Overall it appears to me that veg*ns want to disregard more facts than
meat consumers, but maybe I'm wrong about that. The following are

Weird well problem02 Dec 2003 07:05 GMT13
Yeah, yeah, I know -- when have the Steigers *not* had a well problem?
But this one has me stumped.
When we flip the circuit breaker switch, the pump runs for a few seconds
and then quits.  The wires at both the pressure switch and the well head

Got My Tax Notice. Argh!01 Dec 2003 22:53 GMT28
Got my tax notice last week, and was shocked as I am every year.
For my 2 properties (my home in burbs and 10a of land in the country) with a
combined value of about 175K, I owe $87.00.
Sell out and move to Louisiana guys!  There's still plenty of rural land
How to be environmentally responsible01 Dec 2003 17:22 GMT22
I spent over an hour on the phone with a guy from the Illinois Raptor Center
today.  I talked to him yesterday, but had called him back before I took the
owl in.  We went from talking about the qualifications of people who get
bird permits to saving habitat, etc.

Thanks for any info.
Political Commentary01 Dec 2003 02:40 GMT10
I found this while going through my late MIL's recipes.  It cracked me up,
mostly because I didn't expect it.
Jimmy Carter is my shepard, I will not want.
He leadeth me beside the still factories and abandoned farms.
Got my water bil......wow!01 Dec 2003 01:31 GMT2
We are connected to city water, and in the past they were always too
lazy to read the meters. You would see the lazy SOB drive by and never
get out of the truck. Then you get the bill and it would say
estimated, and it was always much higher than th acutal reading the
