Water softener: brine blocks in place of bag salt?07 Dec 2003 02:56 GMT6
Has anyone switched to using brine blocks instead of rock
or pellet salt?
I have a Hague water softener that's been working great on rock
salt (it was designed to use that). I chose the Hague years ago
I dunno, What the Heck Is It?06 Dec 2003 15:53 GMT4
I have what I think is an ensilage cutter.  Bought last 3 acres of a
family farm in south eastern Indiana.  In the one remaining barn,
along with what's left of a large scale, there is what appears to be,
based on some engravings found in a farm equipment book, an ensilage
Estimating materials for adding a room06 Dec 2003 14:25 GMT1
I'm just wondering if there is a general, ball-park guide on estimating
materials costs for adding onto a house -- just materials, not labor. I know
about what the 'per sq ft' rate is around here, but that including hiring a
contractor, etc.

Japanese (orange) Lady Bugs.
Apparrently, so bright light imported these things from Japan to get

Pit for under car work05 Dec 2003 19:20 GMT16
I have to change a rear oil seal in my truck and have been putting it

underneath it on my back and remove the transmission, etc. ,etc.,..
So I have it in my head to dig a long pit like garages used to have
Odd furnace blower05 Dec 2003 13:49 GMT15
Hey again!
I need a little assistance trying to figure out what is going on with my
furnace blower.  When the thermostat turns on the burner, everything is
OK.  After a few seconds of warm up, the blower motor kicks on....so far
Bird ID?05 Dec 2003 01:09 GMT8
As I was driving out of the farm today, I saw a bird.  Looked like a hawk of
some sort, but not like anything I have seen.  It definitely wasn't a
vulture.  I see plenty of those.
It was sitting on the ground, munching on a fresh deer hide someone had

Frequent poster, Atty. Larry Smith, who perhaps left a major firm,
Arnold & Porter maybe, to work with the ordinary folk, kindly
furnished this via the divine influence of Pastor Tom, sampling:

More well questions04 Dec 2003 22:06 GMT96
To briefly recap, I'm trying to wire an existing submersible well pump
through a pressure switch to a 30-amp 240V circuit breaker inside our
new Crest Ridge.  I was having problems figuring out how to wire the
pressure switch but finally found a diagram right inside the ...
Pastor Tom's spiritual leader04 Dec 2003 19:43 GMT2
Though some thought Pastor Tom was your typical Jew-worshipping tub
thumper, this writer believes he is an advance man for a new spiritual
rebirth. Check this out and appreciate the genuine folksy touch.

Sending eggs through the mail04 Dec 2003 03:12 GMT8
I live in MN and have a friend in PA who used to have a flock of layers but
can't anymore and he misses those fresh eggs!  Is there a safe way to send eggs
through the mail?
No plan04 Dec 2003 02:12 GMT1
Glaringly obvious:  the U.S. had no plan for what to do
in Iraq after Hussein was displaced.
