Low voltage lighting fixture07 Oct 2008 02:41 GMT5
Hi, I saw some outdoor low voltage lighting at a local restaurant and
I like to find out where I can buy the bulb socket so that I can do
the same for my backyard. It seems to be for outdoor use and is rain-
proof.

How to insulate on a cold storage room07 Oct 2008 00:11 GMT7
I have a cold storage room underneath my front porch.  It is poured
out of concrete.  It is around 20 long wide by 5 feet Wide.  We don't
use it at all for cold storage, but want to use it for regular storage
year round.  Obviously it is very cold in there during the winter.
Installing new vacuum breaker on a hose bib06 Oct 2008 21:28 GMT17
Two days ago I didn't know what they were and had never seen one before
(thanks to folks here for enlightening me). So today I installed my
first vacuum breaker (aka anti-siphon device) on a customer's hose bib.
It was something of a bitch. I noticed the setscrew on the new one I
Varathane Finish?06 Oct 2008 20:25 GMT17
I recovered three tree-ring disks from a 100+ year old tree
that was recently cut down. I've sanded the disk down smooth
and the rings and rays look really good. I would like to apply
a finish to the tops to really enhance the tree rings while
Hot water heat plumbing question06 Oct 2008 19:30 GMT6
Have a plumbing problem. Made some modifications to hot water copper pipes

Auto Transmission06 Oct 2008 18:09 GMT3
What happens if you overfill an auto transmission on a small 4 cil by
1.5 quarts for an extended period. It needs to rev high at first to
shift and some slipping occurs when hot. The dealer has been
maintaining the car under warranty and did a trans service when
Postable Digital TV's?06 Oct 2008 14:19 GMT58
I have a portable analog TV which will be a door stop in 2009. Does
any place sell the new digital tv's in a portable form? You know, one
that runs on batteries in case your electricity goes out.
Air flow ratings on furnace air filters?06 Oct 2008 11:26 GMT5
I cannot find any "real" measurements of the airflow through various
filters, 3M vs. Accumulair vs. fiberglass filter, etc.  I just find
discussions about "this one being more restrictive than the other" or that
3M Filtrete purple has 15% more airflow than 3M red, and so on.  ...
Can I add a second electric stove for the basement kitchen?06 Oct 2008 07:06 GMT14
I have 100Amp service to my home.  I have an electric stove in the
main kitchen whose sticker lists two power ratings: 8.3kW and
10.9kW.
First question: why two ratings for one stove?  Perhaps one for the
electrical box above drop ceiling06 Oct 2008 03:18 GMT9
Can I leave and/or add a electrical box above drop ceiling? No
receptacle or switch, just a junction box where multiple conduits
intersect. I know you can't bury one in a finished wall, but what
about above a drop-ceiling?
We dont need a water heater06 Oct 2008 01:31 GMT16
Our electric water heater quit working in our trailer.  We found one
on sale for $150 so we put it on layaway.  We were saving our change
to pay for it, when I found out we dont need one.  To take a bath we
just fill the tub with cold water and stick a electric heater in the
Dryer repair q06 Oct 2008 00:59 GMT13
I have a 20-year-old gas dryer that stopped rotating its drum, so I opened
it up to have a look. I found that the belt had apparently stretched, as it
had no traction. I bought a new one and found that it was the same length as
the old one. I installed it and the problem was ...
Concrete Repair06 Oct 2008 00:43 GMT7
I have a concrete-pebble driveway that has been repaired. The area
that was cut with a diamond saw needs a bit of help.  A few of the
pebbles have popped out along the cut surface and I want to fill those
holes with a cement-like mixture. My problem has been that all the
