Floor "Leveler," or not13 Oct 2008 11:53 GMT7
I pulled up the carpet in my bedroom to find that the previous
residents put the carpet down on top of plywood. I want to put some
vinyl down over the plywood, but need to fill in the cracks
between the plywood as well as fill in any small holes first.
using old wood13 Oct 2008 05:22 GMT16
I'm doing some structural work on an old addition.  A fair amount of the
wood I take off is in decent shape.  (No water damage, in particular.)
It's T&G sheathing, 2x6's, and (especially) clapboards.  It all seems to
nail OK.
Ceramic Tile Questions13 Oct 2008 05:09 GMT1
I would like to tile the walls around my bathtub. Do I need a special
backing board or can I tile over the existing gyprock?  Is there a special
goo needed for showers?  Do I grout with the same stuff I stick the tiles on
with? Any tips or suggestions?  I have to tile around an ...
Broken spacer on Maytag Neptune washing machine13 Oct 2008 03:40 GMT2
I'm replacing the bearings on my Maytag Neptune MAH4000AWW washing machine,
and wow, the whole rear bearing busted open and spilled its balls.  It cut
into the spacer, so now the spacer has a sawtooth edge.
Normally, I'm supposed to re-use the spacer, which now looks like this:

I have an old (1950's I beleive) Wayne air compressor with a 20-25 gal

the house. It has a single cylinder and runs off 220 volt power. I see that
the oil level is down slightly so would like to top ...

Biofuel13 Oct 2008 00:30 GMT16
I have an opportunity to burn B100 or 100% biofuel from a supplier for a
good price. Problem is they say it will take out my o-rings in the
burner fuel pump. How long will it take to do that? Beckett does not
sell parts for oil pumps as they do not rebuild them, only replace them
