Loose front door knob16 Oct 2008 00:34 GMT7
The inside knob on my front door will not "bite" into the opposing
thread.  Result: the knob comes loose and people have a lot of trouble
opening the door from inside.
I don't want to redo the whole installation because the outside is a

I hired the AC tech to replace my AC system which included a new condenser
unit outside and a new handler up in the attic along with new drain line and
drain pan etc...The old air handler had to be removed and disposed of.
The AC tech told me the new air handler will fit in the ...
Dimmer Switch: How to stop filament buzz?15 Oct 2008 23:34 GMT26
I have a 100W globe style bulb attached to a simple 2-way dimmer.  The thing

You can even see the filament flapping in the inert breeze.
Is there no way to fully remove this buzzing?  I know a little about ...

I recently added some new, heavier-duty equipment to my garage
woodshop and am now finding that I'm tripping the breakers more often.
There are two circuits in the garage, both 15 amps. The new tools are
rated as high as 20 amps and trip the breakers under loads (no
Where's my checkbook...?15 Oct 2008 18:30 GMT11
Oh boy, there's plumbers under the house as I speak, with a jackhammer,
tearing up a collapsed vintage sewer line and replacing it.  One of those
jobs where the final cost only goes up, never down.  They just found a
66-year-old code violation, I wonder who I should complain to ...
Weird/Funny15 Oct 2008 16:06 GMT5

LAKEVILLE, Minn. - The anger is getting raw at Republican rallies and

supporters Friday when, in an abrupt switch from raising questions
about Barack Obama's character, he described the Democrat as a "decent

Passing cable via switch box15 Oct 2008 11:13 GMT6
For reasons of esthetics, I'd like to pass a 14gage Romex via a switch box
on a wall. This is a surface mounted box. This new cable is on separate ckt
breaker.   Is this allowed by NEC code?  Can't find that case anywhere.
Thanks...RichK

Over the years I have acquired fancy furniture that has this form fitting

But brittle.
