Insulating under floor17 Oct 2008 02:56 GMT18
Got my crawl space dug out so I can move around.  Want to insulate w/ R19
bats.  Joists are 2x6 approx. 24 inches on center.  What's the best way to
hold up the insulation?  Can't staple the flanges since they need to face up
towards the heated surface.  Can't use the "wire ...

I noticed this before, and now have a mind to do something about it:
There are a number of pilings in the interior foundation of my 98 year
old 2 story 1925 square foot house. One of them doesn't reach the base
and is suspended above it by about an inch. There's an interior door

the fireplace is original to the house. We purchased the house about a year
ago. We tried several times last winter to have a fire and most of the time

Is there a programmable thermostat (for furnace) that allows the hysteresis
to be changed from the front panel, using keys and display?

Or, maintain temp at 65 with X number of on/off cycle per hour
!!!...Who is Jesus16 Oct 2008 14:38 GMT8
Who is Jesus?
Without a doubt, you have often heard the claim that Jesus is God, the
second person in the "Holy trinity." However, the very Bible which is
used as a basis for knowledge about Jesus and as the basis for
Concrete topping - tough and rigid?16 Oct 2008 07:03 GMT6
I have a section of concrete floor (1-1/2" thick x 60 square feet)
that is fragmented and deflects slightly when I walk on it because the
5/8" plywood subfloor was inadequately fastened to the joists.
To stabilize the concrete, I'm thinking about applying a topping on
Help with Kenmore refrigerator16 Oct 2008 04:10 GMT5
The water dispenser stopped working the other day.  Not sure if ice
cubes also stopped being produced.
Then magically started working again.  This happened about 4 or 5
years ago.  Recall it being expensive to repair($400.00).

I've struggled with this for the last forty years.
I want to hang something on a drywall wall, and I want to use the
studs instead of drywall anchors. I have the damndest time finding the
studs reliably.

Asking for a friend:
What's the best way to install the click-type laminate flooring along
the face of a 10 foot wide brick faced hearth? It's being installed

leaking dishwasher drain hose16 Oct 2008 02:16 GMT2
The factory-included drain hose for a used dishwasher I purchased is
leaking.  Several places that sell dishwasher parts have drain hoses like
the original for $20-$40.  That seems like a lot for a hose.  Is there any
reason not to use 5/8" black hose from the hardware store?

RMC conduit going into box w/concentric KO's16 Oct 2008 01:25 GMT10
I'm using rigid steel conduit with steel boxes where I have elected to
use the conduit as the grounding conductor.   I have a 1/2" conduit
going into a masonry box with concentric 1/2 & 3/4 knockouts.  I'm not
crazy about concentric KO's so I thought I'd knock out to 3/4 and use
