Two breakers, one circuit31 Oct 2008 23:07 GMT12
Recently, I was changing a light fixture on my back porch and
discovered that I had to shut off two breakers to cut the power to the
circuit.  I take that to indicate that somewhere, somehow the two
circuits have effectively been crossed together such that the circuit

Use and storage of auto jump-starter - portable power31 Oct 2008 15:50 GMT7
I've got a Sears DieHard Portable Power 1150 unit.  It can be used to jump
start a car, has an air compressor, and even a small inverter.
Does it make sense to always have the unit plugged in and charging
constantly or to charge it to 100%, take it off the wall outlet until I use
Diesel Fuel in Heating Oil Furnace31 Oct 2008 14:40 GMT29
Is there any reason not to put #2 diesel fuel in a heating oil furnace
for someone who has locked in a very high heating oil price with his
provider?  Could pay a gas station ab out $3.50/gal versus a locked in
price over $4.50 (I stupidly locked in in July)
does anyone sell rivet nuts?31 Oct 2008 14:18 GMT6
subject says all... the "good" hardware store closed up shop.  Do True
Value, Ace, etc. carry them, or am I reduced to ordering from
McMaster-Carr?  see p/n 93482A691 at www.mcmaster.com for example.  The
bracket for the closer has ripped off my screen/storm door again and
Propane vs gas31 Oct 2008 13:24 GMT9
My sister has propane at her house. The propane company shut off the tank
because they said they tested the line and found evidence of a leak
(without knowing where the leak is). My sis called a couple of plumbers
and asked for quotes to work on the line. A couple of them told her ...
Water heater inlet pipe connection leak31 Oct 2008 13:21 GMT6
We live in a condo that was built in 2003 as apartments and converted
to condos and sold "new" in 2005.  I'm not sure the actual age of the
water heater, but the serial number says something like "E.1.1998" or
something to that effect, I don't have the exact number in front of me

Cutting Back On Chlorine In Your Hot Tub31 Oct 2008 10:36 GMT9
I read this blog post on http://www.saandalbar.org/ and there was no
way to respond. So I thought I would give my two cents on this very
subject and help this person and anyone else who was having a similar

Rolling Tool box31 Oct 2008 02:38 GMT7
I've been using an old Kennedy fishign tackle box for my locksmith work.
But, it's kinda heavy. I've been getting more business at the malls. Have to
park outside, and walk past ten or so stores, to get to the job.
So I made a six or seven pound "jump kit" basic  hand tools, and ...
