Tool belt/rig27 Sep 2008 15:20 GMT1
When I was building stuff around my yard this summer, I bought one of those
cheap tool rigs from HD.  I hate the one I got.  The belt is terrible and
the pockets are too small.  Since I will have a continued need for one, I'd
like to get a better one.  What are you guys using?  ...

Sump pump Question - No more water?27 Sep 2008 14:08 GMT7
Okay, bear with me on this one.....
We had a home built in 2000. The builder installed a sump pump. It
used to run constantly. It failed twice (pipe came loose) and we got a
little water in the basement.
Lawn mower belt replacement27 Sep 2008 06:33 GMT14
Has anyone replaced the drive belt on a Lawn-Boy Insight self propelled lawn
mower?
I'd like to try it myself but I'm not sure how far to take the mower apart
to replace the belt.  There is a *belt cover* that if it can be removed
What kind of liquid/spray to clean evaporator coils27 Sep 2008 01:34 GMT9
Once I figure out how to get the sheet metal covers off the indoor
evaporator coil, what kind of cleaning liquid or spray is the strongest and
still safe to use on the coils?  I'm thinking of something I can get at the
local hardware store, not something I'd have to go to an AC ...
Preheating water by running pipes through attic?27 Sep 2008 01:32 GMT72
My brother-in-law and his wife are planning to retire and build a custom
home with as many energy-saving and eco-friendly features as possible.
Since they're likely to be stuck with HOA rules about exterior
appearance, solar panels on the roof are probably out, but they were
The real cause of the housing crisis, Don't let the Politicians off     the hook.27 Sep 2008 01:24 GMT1
An old trick of politicians to blame everybody else for the problems
THEY created. They always blame the usual suspects: fat cats on wall
street because they are easy targets. Nobody likes the fat cats. The
fat cats are partially to blame BUT most of the blame goes back to the

Toilet Valve Repair26 Sep 2008 23:49 GMT4
American Standard toilet flush valve. I have a new plunger valve (the
valve that regulates the flow of water into the tank.) It came with a
new seat that installs with an allen wrench but I can't get the old
seat out. It has a round inside so an allen wrench won't work to
Rubbermaid 3713 shed26 Sep 2008 23:14 GMT7

They do not warranty the shed READ THE FINE PRINT.
Mine is damaged, the gable pieces cost $47 each to replace.  Any ideas
to help put it back together less expensively?
My last roof26 Sep 2008 20:44 GMT2
Time for new roof for the last time.

Cost and stated life expectancy is similar between two.
Any one has experience on this two materials? Pros vs cons?

My current ancient down draft Jenn-Air has finally been authorized to
be replaced by the home warranty company.  They are offering the

Chainsaw blade sharpened?26 Sep 2008 16:14 GMT50
Using my Poulan "Wild Thing" chainsaw this weekend, and a lot of burnt wood
where I made my cuts.
Don't recall the chain being so bad, but a new one --- on Amazon --- is $20.
My question is, is that the definitive answer of an unsharp chain?  Slow
