Need correct name of connector28 Sep 2008 06:54 GMT11
I'm trying to replace the defrost heater in a Whirlpool fridge/freezer.
The calrod heater delivered yesterday has no connectors on the wire
leads, and I don't know where to get them or what to call them.
Description -- These crimp-on connectors are similar to the familiar

Craftsman Lawn Tractor Mower Belt Problem28 Sep 2008 03:42 GMT3
I have a two year old Sears Craftsman lawn tractor with the 42" mowing deck.
It works well with one annoying exception. Almost every time I want to mow,
the drive belt has slipped off of the power take off pulley and is hanging
slightly below it. I have to get off the tractor and ...
Reinforcing kitchen wall28 Sep 2008 03:20 GMT10
I have a kitchen wall with a window on top, below the window are 8" concrete
blocks.
I will be installing a kitchen sink and dish washer along that wall, so I
broke the wall on one side to run the 2" PVC pipe to a vent stack to the
Sears garage door closer - won't close28 Sep 2008 02:43 GMT8

Running power and coax together28 Sep 2008 02:30 GMT4
I'm re-routing the powerline to my electrically heated hot tub.  It
needs to cross walkway, so I'd like to bury it in concrete in a cut that
would also hold the RG-6 coax from my satellite dish.  They'd be
parallel about 4 ft.  Is this OK, or will it lead to interference?  Can
Suggestions on drywall repair - making it look good28 Sep 2008 01:49 GMT4
Whenever I patch and paint over nail holes I can always see a smooth
spot where the hole was.
Any good books or websites on doing a better job at patching drywall?
Dishwasher still leaving haze even without using any soap28 Sep 2008 00:58 GMT19
Last week I posted pictures of my dishwasher that was leaving a cloudy
haze on the glass. The very helpful suggestions were to try it with
less soap as it might be soap buildup. So I ran it with just vinegar
in the soap dispenser, rinse and a few cups in the tub. But still I
winterizing a cabin28 Sep 2008 00:20 GMT2
I have a cabin (20x24) with a full wood foundation basement in central
Wisconsin.  There's no heating system this winter and I need to
winterize.  I will drain pipes and toilet, pressure tank and water
heater, the last of which is in the basement, and put insulation around
Are old microwave ovens built better than the new ones?27 Sep 2008 23:49 GMT63
I have a microwave that just died...the control board is dead.
I have had this microwave for a number of years and suspect I could
wire a substitute for the controller...likely a timer.
So is this microwave worth saving?
Damp but developable sub basement!27 Sep 2008 22:30 GMT1
Here's the story:
Relative is considering purchase of a 3 bed main floor house; with a 2
bed apartment that occupies about 65% of the lower floor/basement. The
apartment has standard wooden joist floors above a 'crawl space'.
replacing AC27 Sep 2008 21:01 GMT6
Our air conditioner unit is almost 20 years old now.  It is a Trane unit and
still works fine-SEER is 12.
The attic furnace, also a Trane, is natural gas and is about 13 years old.
It still works OK.
Is the underfloor radiant heat viable in my case?27 Sep 2008 20:16 GMT8
I'm considering converting two of my hot water radiators to an
underfloor heating system. A friend of mine, who is marginally more
knowledgeable than me when it comes to radiant heating, alerted me
that depending on volume of flow or rate of flow or the length of
electric metering question27 Sep 2008 16:35 GMT22
I have a lighted sign on a commercial building that I need to meter so we
can determine the electric use and divide it between the three tenants on
the property. Are there any simple meters besides a typical meter and socket
used on most homes and business. Is there another way ...
