Not sure if this is the best newsgroup for this question but...
My wife and I plan to purchase this chest freezer:

I'm assuming it's just a 3 prong plug. So I'm assuming ...
wooden garage door29 Sep 2008 22:53 GMT11
Time to replace the door on my 2-car garage. All I'm seeing for
replacement doors are metal. Does anyone sell wooden garage doors anymore?

i'm repairing an old garage/stable house and making it into a studio.
the roof and foundation seem good but the siding is shot. its old wood
siding approx 6"x1". all the framing is 2x4, 24 on center. the plan is

recommendations for good flat roof sealcoat?29 Sep 2008 19:30 GMT2
i have a flat roof with a torch-down rolled asphalt surface.  it's
been installed for 5+ years and i use that fibered aluminum silver
stuff you find at home depot and lowes to periodically coat it.  the
coating is OK, certainly better than nothing, but i get minor weeping/
Is it hard to install DSL yourself?29 Sep 2008 17:45 GMT52
I have been trying to get DSL, and they all want to send a kit (assuring me
since I am not a technical person at all) that it's very easy to install by
yourself. Has anyone here done that, and is it easy? I mean, really
easy...like any moron could do it easy? :-)
Small Slab advice29 Sep 2008 16:58 GMT1
Hi, getting some conflicting advice from books.
It's on how deep to pour a proper small slab that later will gain a brick
BBQ.
Ground is grey clay, we planned a sand pit to even it, then a 4 inch depth
Updating indoor parts of 10 Seer AC unit29 Sep 2008 16:46 GMT10
2 years ago I got a brand new Carrier 10 Seer AC on the roof.
Now, the furnace and evaporator is at the end of its life so it needs to be
replaced.
But I heard that according to the new law since 2006 only 13 Seer and above

How much (approx) would it cost to install a floor drain in an
upstairs laundry room?
PVC into cast iron sewer pipe29 Sep 2008 15:08 GMT14
I need to replace a short vertical section of cracked 4" cast iron sewer
line.  The section to be replaced is a little less than 4 feet long.  The
top of the cast iron above the connection is already supported so it can't
drop down when I take out the bad section.
Gas fireplaces29 Sep 2008 15:06 GMT9
How often should they be serviced and can this be done without expert.
THanks
Confused about multi stage or variable speed furnace with non variable condensor29 Sep 2008 14:38 GMT3
I'm thinking about getting a multi stage or variable speed furnace to go
with my fairly new 10 Seer Carrier condensor.  Will the AC air handler fan
speed be set to a fixed speed because the coil could ice up?  Will I only
get the benefits of multi speed fan for the heating part?  ...
Looking for a simple electronic timer29 Sep 2008 14:30 GMT2
Have a client who wants to run 2 sets of outdoor lights (one low
voltage, the other line voltage) from a single timer. Rather than just
getting the ordinary mechanical timer, I thought it might be nice to get
a simple, reliable electronic timer instead. The advantage would be not ...
I keep hearing this creak between my first and second floor29 Sep 2008 14:18 GMT9
like something is settling. I hear it maybe 4 or  5 times a week while
sitting in my living room. There are no visible signs of cracks in my
first floor ceiling but it's still a little disconcerting. Is this
just a normal sound or a precursor to a larger problem developing.
yellow jackets29 Sep 2008 13:05 GMT20
Have any of you found a product that yellow jackets will carry down into
their underground lair which will poison the entire hive - much like ant
bait?  These are between a concrete foundation and block porch so anything
flammable is out of the question.  Anything that I spray at ...

After i caulked around the window, the next day i noticed residual caulking
