Dehumidifier fan motor McMillan A0410A240515 Sep 2008 13:37 GMT5
Hi...trying to find a small fan motor for a dehumidifier.  Motor is made by
McMillan.  Part A0410A2405  or E814814.  1550RPM, 1.3A
Not getting any hits on either of these parts.  Normally, parts folks swarm,
when you put in a part number.  Any ideas why this is not coming up?
Who Sells Replacement Recessed Soap Dishes for Shower Walls?15 Sep 2008 05:54 GMT7
I'm re-tiling the shower in my late 50's house and would like to
replace the old chrome recessed soap dish that's built into the wall at
the same time, but neither Lowe's or Home Depot has them.  They do have
the recessed chrome toilet paper holders, which look almost identical,
Copper pipe epoxy relining opinions - does anyone have actual     experience?15 Sep 2008 05:13 GMT21
Our copper pipes are developing pinhole leaks - usual story. Got epoxy
relining estimates from the big names - Ace DuraFlo, NuFlow, CuraFlo.
They are similarly priced +/- 10% of each other. I understand why,
when done well, this process would solve the problem with minimal
Putting up fence - Do I need a boundry survey?15 Sep 2008 05:04 GMT78
I have been getting quotes over $2,000 for a survey.
Is this normal?  Something I really need for a basic fence?

If you ever plan to run for any political election, be sure to stick a

I have a significant water pressure drop when water is diverted to
shower head. There are no restrictions in the shower head. What can be
causing this problem and how do I repair?
Mini-review: non-toxic paint strippers15 Sep 2008 01:43 GMT4
Just wanted to report on a paint stripper I used that seems to work well.
I'm stripping a light fixture that had many coats of paint on it. Did
the bulk of the fixture with Citristrip, which worked reasonably well
and fast. Used up the last of it and needed to do one last piece ...
Removing Broken Glass in Door14 Sep 2008 23:25 GMT2
I know that, in theory, glass installed in wooden windows or wooden
doors is typically held in place either by putty or wooden strips --
but I have a door leading to a second floor apartment, containing
Florex glass in the upper half of it, and I cannot figure out how the
Tapping into the drain14 Sep 2008 22:33 GMT1
In the following picture, you'll see a big drain pipe (case iron) with
two smaller 2" drain pipes going into it on the right:

I'm a DIYer and I would like to add another 2" drain pipe into the
Oil to Gas Conversion Burner14 Sep 2008 22:03 GMT4
My daughter has a 15 year old house with an oil fired boiler. The unit
was the top of the line and has is operating at  80% efficiency
according to the latest tuneup  She has a gas line into the house. In
our area oil is more than twice as expensive as natural gas per therm.

Reasonable price for building a few steps?14 Sep 2008 21:35 GMT12
I know every place and situation is different, just trying to figure if
this is reasonable. (And someone's not pulling something over on a naive
home owner).
New to me house has a "sun room" built across the back of the house.
Thermostat - Possible to Adjust14 Sep 2008 20:33 GMT30
We recently moved into a home with a natural gas fired furnace, air
conditioning and a 'White Rogers' thermostat.
The temperature displayed on the thermostat is off about 8 degrees
Fahrenheit.
1 coat of prime + 2 coats of paint?14 Sep 2008 16:21 GMT7
I have always done a single coat of prime - usually I go with Benjamin
Moore's Fresh Start then two coats of paint, and that worked well.
Now I need to paint some exterior fascia, and soffit ceiling on the exterior
eave areas.  The fascia is high up so I have to paint on a ladder, ...
