"[PLAINFIELD, Penn] Walt Neidlinger spent years trying to keep a
Wal-Mart-anchored shopping complex from being built...
"The traffic would have been suffocating for their little community,
neighbors argued, so when the massive retailer and its partners packed up
Paint or stain?20 Sep 2008 20:41 GMT3
We are going to be getting new exterior doors to replace our 35 year
old doors.  The original doors were wood and were stained on the
interior and exterior to match the trim on the inside of the house.
The new doors will be fiberglass and we are planning on staining the
protecting white cedar shingles20 Sep 2008 17:57 GMT1
I have white cedar shingles on my house.  10 years ago when we put
them up, we treated them with a stain/bleach mixture, and they have
weathered to a fairly uniform gray color (not quite Cape Cod, but
that's 500 miles away), which is what we wanted.
Foundation Wall Repair20 Sep 2008 15:07 GMT8
Greetings All.
We just had a sustained rainfall and luckily had very little water come
into the basement. The only spot it leaked through is a below grade concrete
wall. I thought I heard of a product that expands as it cures in concrete.
Welding is very dangerous20 Sep 2008 14:33 GMT67
Especially when a hot piece of metal goes down your pants and lands
right on your dick.  Yes, this happened, and it was extremely painful.
Local Plumbers HELP!!20 Sep 2008 13:34 GMT5
I just moved to the area last Tuesday (Bellevue) and was lucky to be met
day later with a blocked toilet that is clogged farther down than a plung
or snake can fix. Yay, what fun! Anyhoo, I was hoping some of the local

Where would you put this bathroom outlet (pics)20 Sep 2008 11:28 GMT10
In my ongoing bathroom project, I am redoing the wiring. A question
came up as to where to put the outlet. The picture shows on the right
where the old outlet used to be ( which I don't know if I liked, right
next to the sink) and on the left shows the new double gang box I put
Clear epoxy?20 Sep 2008 05:54 GMT5
Is there a clear epoxy that will bond glass (crystal) to brass. The
glass door knob handle came off of the brass seat.
What kind of drill bit for bathroom tiles?20 Sep 2008 05:13 GMT14

GE gas oven - replace igniter20 Sep 2008 04:57 GMT3
My GE gas oven (JGRS06) does not light. It has a glow plug type
igniter - that does not light.
I see how to physically remove the igniter but I don't understand how
to unplug the electric cord to the igniter.
Raccoon Problem20 Sep 2008 02:09 GMT33
I have a raccoon that has homesteaded under my back yard storage building.
I'm wondering if spraying under and around the building with ammonia might
send him on down the road.
Any one have a better idea short of shooting, I'm in a city so that is out
Concrete Emergency20 Sep 2008 01:32 GMT5
My wife and I have a very unusual situation. A plastic bottle of a
"Cactus Food" tipped over and sat in the solution for a day or so.  It
is a slightly low spot of our concrete patio so it did not evaporate as
quickly as it might have on an area that did not "pond."  The solution ...
Sink Materials19 Sep 2008 21:28 GMT12
We have been bouncing all over the place so I'm posing the question to
the public, what's the best sink material for a kitchen sink?  We have
looked at stainless steel with sound deadening and it's sturdy,
lightweight, easy to mount, doesn't stain, chip or get affected by
Sanding Hardwood Floor?19 Sep 2008 17:59 GMT26
Went to Home Depot yesterday and see they have two sanders for rent.
One is a belt sander and the other is a large orbital. Both are
intended for floors. I just need to take the varnish off an old floor.
Is the big orbital the best tool for this? The room is 15x20ft. Any
