Can anyone offer a success story about removing the odor of fuel oil from a

Fluorescent bulbs25 Jul 2008 06:04 GMT3
In the days of the incandescent bulb, special bulbs were made for use in
vibration prone lights such as ceiling fans. How about these new fluorescent
bulbs? Special bulb or are they all pretty long lasting?
Thanks,
Kinetico Taste25 Jul 2008 05:14 GMT2
We have well water, that tastes great, but the dissolved minerals are
killing our plumbing fixtures. We had a water report done by a
Kinetico dealer and I have friends with these units. My question is
will a 2060 impart any taste to our already great tasting water, and

We purchased some bulk oak hardwood flooring that looks really great.

It works just fine-- on the warmest setting everything gets very cold
Repairing damaged imitation wood-grain surface24 Jul 2008 18:17 GMT1
Pulled an adhesive size label off a new shirt and put it on the dresser
(imitation wood-grain finish on MDF) sticky side down. Other stuff got
put on top of it. Picked up label and a couple of spots of the finish
came with it.

Cabot stain waterproof question24 Jul 2008 15:01 GMT13
Over the weekend, the wife and I put on Cabot 1407 opaque oil-based
stain on the floor of the deck. At the recommendation of the person
who recommended the stuff to her at Lowe's, she now wants to put on
Thompson's watersealer. Is this necessary? Cabot claims to be
Water Header: Dielectric fitting too, or just the bonding cable24 Jul 2008 13:43 GMT6
I'm having a new water heater installed soon.  I'm told my state (NJ)
requires a bonding cable be installed between the hot and cold water
lines.
I'm wondering if there is any benefit to also requesting a dielectric
Replacing Flushometer on a Pressure Toilet24 Jul 2008 13:34 GMT6
The toilet I have has no tank, it just uses water pressure. The brand
is Coyne & Delany Co. Apparently the flushometer went bad. When I
flush and release the handle, instead of the flushing continuing to a
smooth stop, pressure stops abruptly. I need to stand there and hold
Maytag dryer timer never stops24 Jul 2008 11:49 GMT8
I have a Maytag dryer, model LDE7304ACE (10-15 years old?) that works
fine except that the timer never stops. The dryer stops drying at the
right time, but the timer dial just keeps turning (and ticking). We've
been working around the problem by just unplugging it when we aren't
