Hi,  I'm adding a shower and was goint to use the rolled rubber they sell at
home depot, but someone mention I need a HOT MOP to seal the shower
otherwise it would leak.
I called a plumber and he said he never used the hot mop,  only the rubber.
High efficiency, high recovery water heaters29 Jul 2008 00:55 GMT61
I was going to get a whole-house tankless water heater, but changed my mind
after reading various forums with lots of complaints about them.  I like
the idea of tankless, but want to wait till we move to a better house,
where it will be easier to install one at every hot water ...
Tiling Bathroom Floor28 Jul 2008 22:03 GMT3
OK.  I put down the self leveling compound yesterday and it went
pretty well.  I only needed the self leveling compound on 1/2 of the
room because the floor had dropped on one side.  So the floor is half
compound and half plywood (2 layers).  Do I put the ceramic tile

Maytag fridge icemaker water hookup28 Jul 2008 19:39 GMT16
Anybody familiar with how this is done?
I just took delivery today of a new Maytag fridge from Sears, which
came with a factory-installed icemaker. I didn't realize that the
delivery guys hadn't hooked up the water line until they had left. I
Tough white coating on old screwdriver handles28 Jul 2008 18:51 GMT6
Couldn't find anything about this, so thought I'd ask here.
I have quite a few old screwdrivers that have been stored in metal
toolboxes in a damp, but not wet, basement.  Over the years I've
noticed a tough, white coating appear on the handles of some of the
worthwhile to put up a new wall in 500sq ft apt to make it a 1 bdrm?28 Jul 2008 16:44 GMT6
I own a 500 sq ft apartment in downtown DC.  I’m trying to decide if
it would be worthwhile to put up a wall that splits the kitchen and
living room from the bedroom.  Would the apartment be more valuable if
it’s sold as a one bedroom instead of a junior one bedroom?  The cost
Ceiling Lights - Insulation?????28 Jul 2008 15:51 GMT5
We just removed a dropped ceiling in our kitchen and put four 6"
recessed lights in the ceiling.  There appears to be a slight area
around the base of the lights that's not sealed tight.  We were
wondering if there is something acceptable to seal around these light
"best" home warranty company?28 Jul 2008 14:02 GMT14
I know THAT is a loaded question...my mortgage lender( countrywide) just
sent us an offer for a home warranty , $ 24 /month or 37/month to include
heat/ac unit and it just got me thinking ...do any of these companies have a
better reputation than others? Are there any I should ...
pastic door discoloring28 Jul 2008 14:01 GMT2
My main entrance plastic door (with foam core) used to have the
texture of rich glossy stained oak.  With years of exposure to the
elements, the bottom half lost its sheen and now pales ugly white.  My
question is:  Short of replacing the door (pretty expensive), what

Project idea28 Jul 2008 08:59 GMT8
Next query for you guys who build decks?
I now have a sliding glass patio door to the outside.  It's just mud right
now outside there and not much of a difference in level (3 inches maybe?).
Looking for something easy we can do ourselves.  Is it possible to make a
