insulation anchor04 Jul 2008 23:05 GMT2
Where can I find insulation anchors ?  I went to HomeDepot, but no one
knew what I was talking about.  I have seen simple anchors that adhere
to the wall and have a post to stick insulation on with a back to
slide over the post holding the insulation in place.
Where to store Chemicals: Garage or Garage Attic?  Fumes travel down?04 Jul 2008 22:31 GMT13
We have a garage and lots of good storage in the Garage attic.
The Garage is mostly insulated, there is a bit of air leak at the
garage door seal and  the ceiling is mostly insulated.     In the
garage attic there is no insulation on the roof side.   As just moved
Home shower drip repair (how do I get the Delta faucet apart)?04 Jul 2008 18:51 GMT39
Can you help me get my Delta shower faucet apart so I can stop an annoying
drip?
I'm stuck - I don't know how to get the shower faucet apart?

question on removing shower stem04 Jul 2008 15:46 GMT1
I have a Eljer 2 handle shower body. The cold water faucet is leaking
and I have to remove the stem to replace the washer. I borrowed some
stem wrenches from a friend and of course he had every size except the
one I needed. I believe the stem is 15/16" because 29/32" was too
Regarding the igniter on gas stove04 Jul 2008 15:44 GMT4
The repairman came because the igniter was sparking even when the
stove was turned off, and the other burners wouldn't light at all. The
problem was the ceramic around the igniter had gotten wet from a boil
over and wouldn't work until completely dry. I think a couple of words
Bad neighbor solution04 Jul 2008 15:38 GMT83
Well, maybe not a "solution," but another arrow in the quiver:
"Just outside his sealed bedroom window, beyond the chain-link fence that
surrounds his next-door neighbor's yard, sit the reasons David Adams says he
can't sleep: two bushy-tailed dogs that bark and howl all night.
air blow gun question04 Jul 2008 15:32 GMT9
Can I use an air blow gun with water supply?  Air pressure would be about
60lbs for cleaning, and water would be around 50lbs.   It would help me if I
can use both air and water in the thing.
Trane fan "On" for outside air?04 Jul 2008 05:08 GMT53
Concerning the electric thermostat that controls my Trane furnace and
air conditioner, if I change my fan switch from "Auto" to "On" (so
that it runs continuously), is it pulling in air from outside or just
circulating the air already in the house?  In other words, is running
Found crack in cylindrical part inside A/C condenser unit04 Jul 2008 03:57 GMT70
I had my Central A/C tuned up at the beginning of June.  It has been
working nicely, I still am getting cooling.  My unit is a 4 ton
Carrier system.  It is an older system that uses R22.
Today, I happened to take a peak through the top of the condenser

True: End of alt.hvac04 Jul 2008 03:10 GMT59
I did some extensive research and it is true, the alt. hierarchy will
not be carried by several providers.  Unfortunately these are "major"
carriers so many users won't have access to this NG or even know about
(who cares about those fuckin home moaners anyhow).
Heat pump in basement?03 Jul 2008 23:55 GMT21
I live in the upper Hudson River Valley(Albany, NY). The temperature
in the winter hovers around 25 degrees for about 2 months. My full
basement stays around 55 degrees. I know that it is considered very
impractical to install it outside. What are the pros and cons of
Radiant barrier question03 Jul 2008 23:23 GMT12
I hope there are people here who install or have purchased radiant
barriers.  I am considering this.
My questions:
Are they really effective and reduce AC operating costs?
Help - shallow vanity03 Jul 2008 19:39 GMT8
I need to find someplace that sells shallow bathroom vanityies.  Needs
to be 60" wide, and no more than 15" deep.
These are common in Europe but not here in the US.
I've spend hours googling - any ideas ?
Lawn mower air filter?03 Jul 2008 19:34 GMT7
I have a lawnmower that had been running fine.  A week or so ago, it
started stalling out, just after I'd started running it.
It'd start easy, run for about 20 seconds, then sputter out.  It did this
regardless of whether I was mowing anything or not.  Load didn't seem to
