What decade is this piece from?26 Apr 2008 02:06 GMT7
I have purchase an antique piece on ebay and now I have grave doubts
about its being antique. It's a tea kettle and the claim is that it
was made in the 1800's. However, the pieces are being held together by
nuts and bolts. I have (low quality) picture that I took with my

My neighbor was scammed by driveway spraying scammers26 Apr 2008 00:17 GMT141
It happened yesterday. A truck cruised in our neighborhood and I saw
them stop by our neighbor's house (we have a concrete driveway, his is
asphalt) and they talked. Then I went to do something else, the next
thing I know is that my neighbor's asphalt driveway was sprayed with

' "Crop-based biofuels are not part of the solution. They, in fact, add to
the problem. Whether Al Gore has caught up with that, somebody ought to ask
him," the professor said.'

Bullnose Laminate25 Apr 2008 19:50 GMT2
I am putting in a new kitchen island countertop (read: no backsplash).
I would like a bullnose on the front and back sides of the top. I

difficult is it to press the laminate into a bullnose form? I do not

What does it take to cut a padlock off?
I'm talking about the "diskus" type of lock on the door of a self-storage

Where to find hand pump for well?25 Apr 2008 16:39 GMT3
I have a shallow well, and in the summer the water level drops to about 10
feet. Do they make hand pumps that can pump water from that depth? Any ideas
where to find one? My water supply is plentiful, but doesn't do me any good
when the power is off.

Dishwasher Broken - Which part should I order?25 Apr 2008 13:42 GMT15
I have a Maytag QuietSeries 300 dishwasher, model MDB9600AWQ.
Several months ago, its display panel started acting funny (only part
of the green LED segments actually lit) but it continued working fine
- until today.
Dishwasher problem25 Apr 2008 13:40 GMT20
OK, so I had a handyman at my place the other day to install my new
kitchen faucet, among other things.
Works  great, looks great (aside from the fact that now my sink looks
like crap next to the shiny new faucet). I went out, my husband
Removing dried polyurethane from bathtub?25 Apr 2008 13:07 GMT6
The previous owner of my house had cedar boards put over the drywall
in the bathrooms, then applied polyurethane to them himself.
Unfortunately, he hadn't heard of that marvelous new invention called
masking tape.

with the clumps and bare mattress.  I understand there are some sort
of clips that can be purchased to hold them in place.  Does anyone
Going back to candlelight25 Apr 2008 06:44 GMT104
With these new compact florescent bulbs, we may as well all go back to
candle light.  I have lived with these damn CF bulbs in my garage for
several years.  I go in to get a tool, and have to stand for 5 minutes
waiting to be able to see what I'm doing.  I started carrying a
