Garage door opener problem02 Apr 2008 19:52 GMT2
I have a Sears opener that is approx. 9 yrs old.  I have 2 remote
controls, 1 keypad (wireless), and the factory button in my car.  All
worked, until about a year ago, when 1 battery went dead(?).  Replaced
the battery, remote still didn't work.  Tried to reprogram remote
Generator question....portable02 Apr 2008 18:55 GMT59
I'm in the market for a portable generator and just need it to run the
fridge the furnace and just small things after that. I went on a few web
sites and they seem to be geared to running your whole house instead of just
a few things to get past the storm or what ever. I live SW ...

No heat from vents : Duct work problems ?02 Apr 2008 17:41 GMT9
I noticed that, when the central heat is on in our house, two vents
(in two bedrooms) don't seem to have any air flow out of them (they
are the only vents in the room, so I don't think they are intake
vents) . So these rooms feel cold. Other vents in the house seem to
Waterproof Seal for Wood--with standing water02 Apr 2008 16:20 GMT5
Greetings all,
I'm stumped.  I recently sank a wood box about 2 1/2 feet below ground
so I can have a removable 4x4 pole on which to hang a hammock.  All
was well--the concrete was setting, etc.  but when I came out the
Sump pump. Expected lifetime.02 Apr 2008 15:47 GMT11
I have a septic sump in the basement. Waste from a basement half bathroom goes there. Also the air conditioner drain goes there and a 2" ID pipe but I don't know what it carries. Main household waste bypasses the sump and goes direct to drain. The sump is emptied via a pump and a ...
Change of adress02 Apr 2008 15:13 GMT4
My friends, it has been a bad year. My van broke down. Several friends have
left me. I was in love, but it didn't work out. The trailer needed repairs.
My computer finally failed, after so many years of use. The credit card
people are calling me, all hours of the day. It's getting ...
insulation again02 Apr 2008 12:54 GMT4
I sat through a free dinner (chicken or shrimp) and heard a guy try to
sell me roll-out multi-layer aluminum foil insulation (apparently with
mylar in the sandwich).  It is perforated so as to allow moisture
through, and installed over top of the fiberglass/cellulose/whatever
Waist more Energy Water tank temp set to High?  Natural gas.02 Apr 2008 08:38 GMT14
Just curious if there have been any studies or experiments on energy
used by a water tank set to high, compared to medium.   I am just
trying to get a feel, if its worth keeping it at medium, to save on
the heating bill.   If it's a matter of $50 more per year in heating,
Strange sink faucet connections02 Apr 2008 06:41 GMT3
I have replaced many sink faucets but this one has me perplexed.
I went to my mom's house to take a look at a broken faucet valve stem.  I'd
like to swap it out with a new wide spread set, but the faucet looks like it
is built into the porcelain of the sink itself!  The pop-up is ...
New Toilet installation02 Apr 2008 05:10 GMT7
I want to install a new toilet in my basement bathroom.
After I take the old one off I need to remove the old wax ring and put
on a new wax ring?
And then put something over the wax ring?  Finally I then install the
Push button switch for a garage door02 Apr 2008 03:35 GMT8
Trying to replace a bad switch in my electrical box.  This one is in the
garage, a 3 gang box with lights and also two push buttons to control the
garage door.
I am trying to find another push button switch but HD or Lowes don't have
Today's HUD Wreck Finds02 Apr 2008 03:09 GMT5
Rain all day here. Might as well hit up some inside issues.
Outlet shows faulty wiring with one of those plug in outlet analyzers.
Here's what I found.

What Size Angel Grinder to Buy02 Apr 2008 02:45 GMT6
I want to buy a Angel Grinder, but I see they come in different sizes.
What is the most handy or most common size?  I want to be able to get
the wheels in hardware stores, not have to mail order them.
