Removing Oven Door29 Apr 2008 16:36 GMT8
In order to get the city to pick up my old oven (Jennair built-in
unit) I need to remove the door.
I know it requires some sort of lifting maneuver but I can't seem to
get it.

CFL vs incandescent bulb:  Brightness29 Apr 2008 15:48 GMT10
Perhaps it's just the brand(s) of CFL bulbs that I've been buying -
but has anyone else noticed a lack of "brightness" with these things.
Case in point:  I've switched bulbs out in light fixtures that I
normally would use 75 watt incandescents in - replacing them with
Battery back up sump pump question29 Apr 2008 15:34 GMT13
Hello,  I have a Wayne battery back up sump pump model ESP15 and it
eats up a brand new deep cycle marine battery about every 1 - 2 years
whether it gets used or not.  I think it is because the AC charger is
always plugged in and over time will "cook" the battery to death.  Has
Preventing drill bit slippage29 Apr 2008 15:09 GMT4
I am using a 1/2" masonry bit in an old hammer-drill.  At the slightest
catch, the bit slips, even to the point of coming out.  It uses the old
screw thing to tighten.
I am thinking of grinding the bit up and down the bare spot.  Any other

Sump Pump Plumbing Question29 Apr 2008 14:03 GMT5
Hi guys.  I have a few sump pump pipe questions.  My current sump pump
setup is a submersible Zoeller 1/2 or 1/3 hp (don't know the exact
specs on it but I know its low hp) pump.  The pipe currently is
basically vertical about 10ft. where it exits the house.  It is 1"

I have a craftsman DLT 25 hp riding mower.  The drive belt keeps coming  off.
I bought a new belt and still have the same problem.  It happens when I stop
and shift from a forward to reverse.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Is this to code?29 Apr 2008 05:44 GMT8
I would like to install a security light on the outside of my garage. The
only electricity in that area is an electric outlet on the inside of the
garage wall. Can I tap into the inside wall outlet to connect a switch and a
light? Or, can I put a light only on a dedicated ...
Low Fridge Water Dispenser Pressure - Plastic vs. Copper?29 Apr 2008 05:15 GMT2
When Sears delivered my new KitchenAid refrigerator, the delivery
folks adamantly refused to hook up the water supply line because my
line is made of plastic tubing and it is allegedly against their rules
to hook up to plastic tubing because of potential liability for leaks.
Smoke detectors - How to test29 Apr 2008 05:05 GMT2
I have a 20 year old security system that includes 3 smoke alarms, one is
the ion type the other two are optical sensors.
They all blink at regular intervals, seemingly indicating that all is well.
Or is it?
tankless hot water29 Apr 2008 03:16 GMT9
I have a kitchen and 2 bathrooms.  Would going from a hot water tank to
"tankless" hot water in each spot be any kind of a good deal?  Seems to me
like it wouldn't be good.
