Cutting Aluminum06 Apr 2008 08:09 GMT14
I bought a 10" metal cutting wheel for a miter saw to cut aluminum, but
it really doesn't work too well. It cuts it, but it's not a straight
cut, presumably because the cutting wheel is flexible, and the motor
isn't fast enough.
How can I make a new metal shed look like having cottage or other     atmosphere?06 Apr 2008 06:23 GMT1
I am new at gardening and I want to get a new clean looking metal shed
(because cheaper than wood and plastic sheds).
My family want me to buy an expensive kind of barn or shed but they
just spend my money, they don't earn it. I am the one who works hard.
Bathroom Wall06 Apr 2008 05:41 GMT6
I'm looking for advice on what I should do to repair my bathroom
wall.

Defect is on the wall above the tub, above the level of the tile
gas water heater control valve question06 Apr 2008 04:41 GMT5
I just got a new control valve for my Kenmore gas water heater, and it
came with a plastic sleeve over the thermostat sensor element (the
copper rod that extends into the tank).  Does that sleeve serve a
function or should it be removed before installing the control valve?
Seal window over bathtub06 Apr 2008 04:20 GMT3
I'll get a bathroom renovation. There is an old wood window over the tub,
and I don't like it due to moisture problem. But to seal it, a lot of work
required, and outside it's hard to match the exterior stucco for the 40-yr
old house.
Splicing Romex06 Apr 2008 03:56 GMT15
I need to lengthen some old wiring in order to make all the wires of a 3-way
switch come together in a recessed lighting box that I am installing in a
first floor ceiling (no insulation).
In doing some web research, I see that splices can be done, but they must be
Might a deep sink and large garbage disposer be a problem?06 Apr 2008 01:56 GMT10
We are going to replace the cabinets and add a granite counter in our
kitchen and part of the job is moving the sink so all the related plumbing
lines will be relocated.
The contractor says for us to purchase our own undermount sink and a
low voltage electrical splice?05 Apr 2008 21:05 GMT5
I have low voltage lighting in my yard.  There was a break in a long run of
wiring.  I stripped the ends, spliced together (twisted), covered with vinyl
electric tape and everything seemed to be working.  Then the wire burned
through at the splice.  The ends seemed to be corroded ...
weller soldering station parts?05 Apr 2008 20:34 GMT8
got an old Weller TC202 soldering station with a TC201 pencil.  I have
no idea how old it is but I liberated it from a trash pile at my
previous employer's when they threw out all the stuff they didn't want
after they stopped fabricating stuff in house and moved to a new office.
Installing round eve vents05 Apr 2008 19:52 GMT6
I am thinking of improving the air circulation in my attic by installing some
of the round eve vents.  I can figure out how to install them, drill a hole the
right size and push them in,but how do I make them stay there?  My experience
with things I just push in is not very great.  ...
Spammers - why us?05 Apr 2008 18:08 GMT38
This NG has recently been infested by hordes of posts for "cheap 'x' "
products from Asia and some kind of airline spam in German.
It's eating up this NG!  But other NGs I read regularly are not
infested.
No power to ice maker05 Apr 2008 17:54 GMT1
Our ice maker quit in mid-cycle (inside our 3 yr old Amana 25 cf
bottom-freezer frig).
I pulled out the ice maker unit and the water supply solenoid. The
drive motor and solenoid both work when power is supplied externally.
Blow in Cellulose05 Apr 2008 17:50 GMT4
I have a section of lower-level  ceiling behind drywall next to the rim
joist that is cold.  I'd like to insulate it.  I remember reading in this
newsgroup that someone took a leaf blower and blew cellulose with some
success.
